Just three weeks into my new job....as a Senior Software Engineer.

And so far, I'd agree.

"Best job" is such a subjective thing. Some people want lots of money bad enough to work tons of hours and endure lots of stress. Others don't. Others care about other factors ("doing good" or "working with children", etc).

My job doesn't appear on that list. There are surely better jobs than mine. But I'm happy with it, because I work my 40 hours, have almost zero stress, and make a solid if unspectacular wage. Works for me. It would not work for an "ambitious go-getter." *shrug*

I agree with Arrian... I get paid to post here

and do other stuff
but I pretty much just do my work, post here, go home and not stress

I get paid alraight, but money ain't ever enough, I get enough vacation and my bosses are not really hanging over me every second. I come and go as I want, I am evaluated souly on the work I do or don't do... There's not a lot of perks, but I would rather those perks be transfered through pay and time off then company picnics or whathaveyou

I wouldn't go so far to say it is subjective, but it is probably relative to your personal interests.

Claiming that there is a "best" job is a bit like claiming that there is a best shoe size. A lot of ranking systems (e.g. College rankings) suffer from the same flaw.

Size 11 isn't that big. I've got size twelve feet, but I'm only a bit over 5'11 in height
