Bernie is being talked about for the HoF? Really? If so, then I agree with you. He qualifies for the Hall of really quite good.

If he'd remained productive for a few more years, his numbers would have been borderline HoF, and then the discussion would've been interesting. But that didn't happen.

I dunno, maybe 'cause Giambi is the hottest hitter on the team coming into this game? Maybe b/c if you have 2nd & 3rd a single scores two? Maybe b/c Jeter went on his own and Sheff followed suit?

Risky play, no doubt, but they made it. As for A-Rod... I'd rather have Giambi up with the bases juiced than A-Rod up with 1st & 2nd.

One more thing w/regard to Jeter: the media love-affair w/him isn't just b/c he plays in NYC. That's certainly part of it, but the 4 Championships are definitely a factor as well. Sure, objectively we can see that Jeter plays about as well in the playoffs as he does in the regular season (which, IMO, is quite good, b/c the competition is generally better), and isn't some sort of playoff god. But he still gets a lot of extra credit b/c of those 4 championships.

how much longer can lilly dance outta danger? it doesnt seem like the 2nd best team in the AL east in gonna score against the loooose moooose, so even if lilly holds it together for the next two innings, the 2nd best team in the AL east's bullpen will prolly blow it.

what they shoulda done was stake the moose a 4 run lead in the 1st. then they woulda had a chance i think.
