Ah, Sava, always riding the coattails of what is popular, rather than actually going below the surface and thinking for himself .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I'm actually with Sava on this. Allowing Rollins to carry over his hit streak from one season to the next is as silly as claiming Tiger Woods won the Grand Slam when he won all four majors in a row in two different seasons. If Rollins gets to 56, good for him, but he won't break DiMaggio's record just like Woods didn't complete the Grand Slam despite his impressive achievement.

Chris Shelton has already hit his fifth home run of the season tonight.

Pennsylvania is now 0-9. Great start to the season.

From someone else's post from another forum:

I just checked the internet. Not only the MLB Phillies winless, so is their AAA, AA and Low A teams.

Well, at least the Clearwater Phillies are 2-0.

Zambrano let up 2 runs, while Carpenter didn't let up any. Carpenter didn't lose the game, the pen did.

Carpenter is definitely awesome, but to be fair to Zambrano, his runs weren't earned. Just a great pitching matchup all around.

The great thing about about the Cubs this year is for the first time in forever they have a bullpen that doesn't scare you every time they are used. I think they have the potential to be one of the top 2-3 bullpens in the league. I am so excited about this year. Manufacturing runs without the HR and not blowing games late? WTF happened to our Cubbies?

Problem is they don't have any STARTERS this year ...

Do know a team that has some extras though ... oh yeah, and the only team with any chance at actually winning smoething (again) this year ...

Carpenter didn't pitch well enough early on to stay in the game longer... which could have put St. Louis in a better position to win.

Zambrano kept the Cubs in the game and also the Cubs pen (Howry and Dempster = ) pitched well enough so that they could win it.

But then again... I watched that game. Did you?

Carpenter gave up 4 hits and 1 walk in 6 innnings... and had thrown only 97 pitches! In addition had 9 strikeouts. I think this is one you can blame on LaRussa for taking him out too early.

If you don't think that is pitching well enough early on to stay in, then you are smoking something!

In comparison, Zambrano had the same 6 innings, and 4 hits, but had 4 walks as well and 5 K's. He also threw 111 pitches (and had a marginally worse strikes to pitches thrown number). Very good outing, but not as good as Carpenter's.

                                My point stands.

I watched the game... you obviously didn't.

I saw the guys pitch. The way they looked and the way they played isn't reflected in the numbers. But then again, all you do is look at numbers.

                                This is why you fail.

                                Cubs sweep BTW.

Why can't you ever just admit you are wrong? You just keep digging yourself deeper!
