Nope, never does. I just hope Sheffield lasts another year so I can cheer him on when the AL East come out to play NL West teams.

I'll go to Anaheim or Oakland to see the Sox, but I won't travel to teams I don't care about just to boo the MFY.

Just wait till the Sox sign Rocket for the second half of the season. He's gonna K the yanks, pass Cy Young as the winningest red sox pitcher of all time, go inte cooperstown with a sox cap, and become the 6th red sox number retired.

Heh. You just never know with Clemens. He could sign with the Sox, the Yanks, the Astros, the Rangers... or he really could retire. No way of knowing.

Obviously if the Red Sox do get him, it would be quite a coup. Personally, I'd like to see him go back to the Astros.

The squeaky wheels get some grease! I was less than thrilled with the new fantasy baseball stattracker, and wrote in to complain about it. The response I got revealed a wonderful trick that you can apply to the fantasy baseball and hockey stattrackers. This trick circumvents the browser opening that small window and instead uses the whole browser display for the stattracker. If you hate scrolling like me - this is very welcome news.

Before using these links be sure you've logged into the pool normally. Then just paste the appropriate address below into the browser location instead of clicking the normal stattracker link

Here are the 'magic' addresses for our pools:

              Baseball I: ?
              http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo....cker?classic=1
(Substitute the ??? with your league number)

              Basebase II: Apple 2
              http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo....cker?classic=1

And if you're thinking of opening the newer, Flash, baseball stattracker the same way, you can do it, but it doesn't scale out. (And it would suck at any size anyways - horrible design.)

              Cheers!

                Oh...and who needs Clemens?

                The Sox have Papelbon.

The way Clemens left the Sox, he ain't worth bringing back, in more ways than one.

A hitting streak should not be "continued" into the next season IMO... that's bull****. The last season ended. It's over. So is the streak. Period.

How many guys had hits in their last game last year? So should those guys have a hit streak +1 if they start a hit streak the first game this year? What about if guys take a day off or get injured and miss 2 months then come back?

No... a hit streak is when you hit in consecutive games... none of this next season bull****.

I don't care if Jimmy Rollins hits for 48 straight games to open the season and people say he hit in 84 games... DiMaggio will still hold the record IMO. When Rollins does it in 57 actual consecutive games, then I will care.

But it's not a streak if the games aren't actually consecutive.

And IIRC, the records are considered seperate anyways... as they should be. I just wish the media would stop calling it a hit streak, because it's not. But I understand there isn't much else to talk about at the start of the season... other than Ken Griffey Jr's opening day home runs or something...

oh wait, who won the world baseball crap thing again? I forgot already

Papelbon has potential, sure. I'd love it if he were a Yankee. But the above is pretty silly.

In other news, Wakefield gets shelled and Torre is a moron. I like Joe generally, but SCOTT PROCTOR in the ninth inning of a tied game?! Is the man trying to lose?!?!

It's a consecutive game hitting streak, not a 'consecutive game hitting streak in one season'. It is silly that the end of the year ends Rollins' streak.
