I don't think the Clemens is pissed at the Red Sox organization anymore. Duquette is gone. New ownership. The fans seem to have forgiven him...

I wouldn't be all that surprised if he did end up with the Sox (which would suck). It's just too early to tell, and there are others in the running (Astros, Yankees, possibly Rangers).

he wants to pass cy young as the winningest pitcher in red sox history. also, he wants to get his number retired, and there is an unwritten understanding that you must retire a red sox for that to happen. its difficult to have your number retired as a red sox (pedro for example, will not get his number retired by the sox because he didnt play 10 years for the team.)

        Wooot!

Pitchers hitting . Arroyo hits his second HR of the year (against Glendon Rusch again) as he also pitches well against the Cubbies.

Bannister, of the Mets, hits a double, while putting the clamps on the Nats (Mets are 6-1, woot!)

          Some fun stats:

After 13 games MLB is on pace for 5,770 league wide home runs. Last year there were 5,017. Average over the past 3 years is 5,225.

As for runs, they are on pace for 23,428. Last year was 22,322. Average over the past 3 years was 22,891.

Man, how funny would it be after they banned steroids and amphetamines if offensive numbers went up to the their highest level since the 1930s . I love it!

did ya see randy blow a dandy? also i think youkilis should hit leadoff from now on and crisp should bat at the bottom of the order where steals are more valuable.

Of course, they're "on pace" for all sorts of silly things right now. It'll settle down some. As will some of the crazier individual performances (Chris Shelton may be a good player, but COME ON!).

Unfortunately, I did. Handed a 4-0 lead before he took the mound and he coughed it up pretty much immediately. He had nothing at all. That blew.

Youklis isn't a bad choice for leadoff. The man gets on base (and hits doubles off ****ty Tampa Bay relievers, too).

Papelbon had his first shaky outing. Lucky for him that Stern is a good CF (though that was *really* risky, and could easily have resulted in a 3-run "triple").

yeah, i think we can say that he blew his first game yesterday because its only luck that kept that ball from going to the backstop.

can you believe that Juicein' Giambi got AL playa of the week? Im pretty suspicious that hes back on something. his face is as puffy as a brontosaurus.

It's hard to dismiss this when last season everyone was going on and on about how batting stats were down starting from the first week of the season.

Giambi is en fuego right now. As for the 'roids, meh, you just don't know. He's an admitted cheater, so I feel no compulsion to defend him, but at the same time there are some valid reasons to believe that he is clean now. Believe what you will, because neither of us really knows or can know.

People drawing conclusions from April, regardless of whether or not you like the conclusions, are silly.

Nevertheless, I'm really liking Shelton right now! (Yes, he's on my team.)

You're a Tiger fan? Or you have him on a fantasy team?

Either way, it's fun while it lasts. I'm loving Jeter's start, but the objective side of me is aware that he will not put up an OPS of 1000 for the season.
