Derrick Lee is out for 8-10 weeks with broken bones in his wrist. BAD news for the Cubbies.

Yeah... tough luck for the Cubs. We were managing well with Prior and Wood on the DL... but this really hurts.
Probably the one player the Cubs couldn't afford to lose.
Even the best case scenario doesn't have him back until the All Star break... sigh...
Thank god the White Sox are still going strong.Keep on Civin'

I only have one thing to say and I say it now because it won't last long.
Tigers are in the top 3 in just about every stat you can think of in the American League
BATTING:
Batting Ave - Shelton (1st)
Home Runs - Shelton (1st)
Triples - Shelton (1st)
Hits - Shelton (Tied 2nd)
RBI's - Shelton (1st)
Slugging Pct. Shelton (1st)
OPS - Shelton (1st)
PITCHING:
ERA - Maroth (1st)
K's - Bonderman (3rd)
Wins - Rogers and Maroth (Tied for 2nd)
Fastest Pitch This Season - Verlander (101 MPH)
FIELDING:
TC - Shelton (1st)
PO - Shelton (1st)
Fielding Pct - Many (Tied 1st)
Anyways, hopefully it lasts for awhile.
Edit: You'd think we would be better than 10-7Last edited by Deity Dude; April 22, 2006, 20:06.

Well, its May Day, and Judas Damon is making his grand return to Fenway. Personally, I hope he gets viciously booed. I hope that Fenway takes a giant **** all over him after he gave us the finger and left the Nation for the Empire.
I'd like for him to get beaned on the first pitch, but Tim Wakefield is pitching, so a 70 mpg knuckleball isnt really the pitch you use to send a message.
First he says "I could never play for the Yankees" and then he goes ahead and signs with them just for the money. Well he deserves all the disrepect he will get now."Everything for the State, nothing against the State, nothing outside the State" - Benito Mussolini

Heh. Your venom is amusing. Damon was a merc before he became a Red Sox, and remains a merc now. The man has played for four teams. The only fans who have a leg to stand on calling Damon a traitor are Royals fans (if there are any left).
I hadn't heard that Varitek quote before, though. Ouch. Seems unfair. I expect a mixture of boos and cheers in his first at-bat, and then boos thereafter. I'm sure it will get ugly at some point. Meh.
I'm not liking tonight's matchup. Wakefield is typically good vs. the Yanks, and Sheff is out.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.
