How is private property also public?? I can see if the state owned the bar or arena, but thi is a private bar owned by a tax pay citizen to sell and distribute alocholic beverages. Wouldnt be up to the bartender in charege to have a said person charged with not public intoxication but rather then disturbing the peace, since i dont know of any other reason one would go to a bar but to drink

I dont get what your saying. Is it good you weigh a buck ten? or that u get drunk after two and how is that a good thing ? That would be more of a drag to the folks you are with that take a few more then 2 i would think
the latter, usually doesn't take more then two to get me drunk. I'm not very big and I don't drink very often.

As for it being a drag, I dunno. I'd think the folks that take more would get a kick out of seeing me drunk.

it isn't public. But the reasoning is eventually they will leave the bar and maybe get behind the wheel of a vehicle. I don't agree with it, but that is the reasoning.

No, As i already said said in case you forgot how to read right. It sucks jsut as much as the other states. A state isnt cool because you reside there, and that isnt the point here bk.

no dis these agents went into the bar. which if you ask me is against the law.
Its a given cops sit outside many bars to watch the drunks go home they can pull over any one but have to do it a few miles away from the bar our it would be entrapment. and cant use the terms i saw him leave this estabishment.
to go into private property and pick up someone for pubic inotxication is insane since they arent in public to begin with.

You're quite right. Texas is cool for a whole lot of other reasons. You get gorgeous hot summers for one.

Once again hot sumers have nothing to do with a cop busting the doors of ur local bar down and arresting ya cause u trip over a bar stool on accident and they can charge ya with public intoxication. if ya cant go to a bar to drink the by all means were the hell else can you do this??

Yeah, I agree it's bull****. They might have good intentions, but they are doing it all wrong.

I don't see how they can enforce these kind of bans. Up here they try to make the bartenders responsible if someone gets in an accident. The bartender is supposed to ease someone off the sauce if they feel they have had enough.

The police aren't going to be able to watch every bar, and arrests are way out of proportion.

That is rediciuosly - how the heck should the bartender be responsible of what a customer might do after leaving a bar unless she brags about how she is going to do some drunk driving later ?

BC the bartender is responsible for serving the drunk. Whether it is right or wrong they are the ones dishing out the sauce. They are also required by state law to take a course on selling alochol, where if something does happen, the owner of such place can be held responsible if the sauce was sold to them illegealy

This may be mean, but according to that logic, then a person selling a gun is responsible to whatever the buyer do with it.

Edit: Stupidity from my side - I don't think that you are guncrazy - sorry.

It is a little bit different.

When you sell a gun, you just sell the gun to the customer. When you sell alcohol, you can keep selling it to the same customer. You can see the customer drinking in your establishment and you can observe them, while the gun owner cannot.

It's like selling a gun to an underage kid, you don't do it because you will be found negligent if you do so. Same with selling alcohol to someone who has had way too much to drink.

No Bc I agree with ya it is stupidity. I dont know abotu weapons but i do know that the owner of a bar that knowingly sells an intoxicated person is in the wrong and can be sued.
What i am saying here is that i dont know how a law person can burst into private place with out cause and start to arrest folks. Its a bar for gods sakes not a playground.
