It is the priciple that I'm agruing agaist.
Actually, it means if the person sells a gun to a drunk person, then the person selling the gun would be liable.

    ACK!

As every Texan considers him / herself as "an army one", I don't see a distinction.

Point is, anywhere else the guy would have been hauled into jail. Just last week in Little Rock the police approached two men who were pissing on the sidewalk on the River Marker near the
Clinton Library. They merely told them to go home. Afterwards they were seen again and were asked to leave again. Only after one got agressive with the cops were they hauled into jail. One turned out to be an off duty secret service agent. Police say they didn't know that until after he was arrested.

Meanwhile in Jonesboro a few months ago, the local police were sending in undercover officers to bust people who dared to bring alochol to restuarents to drink with their food. Jonesboro is in a dry county but the reatuarent had encouraged customers to bring their own wine if they so chose. Apparently the evil wine drinkers were more of a danger than the meth heads in other parts of town.
But that is the stupid part -- the jerks you originally talked about should have been arrested! Along with these other instances you mentioned here.

Go figure Id like to see them try this **** in austin on 6th street, or in san antoio on the river walk. Any way you look at it i still think its illegal. that's the thing. People are expected to drink themselves into a stupor at their own home. But loud parties are not allowed either. So you are basically expected to drink alone. What fun is that?

Didn't know Dallas was so different from SA or Austin. Why would they be so restrictive on alcohol?

Go to West End or Greenville Ave or Northwest Highway or go to Cedar Springs if you're of Mr. Fun's persuasion.
Dallas is nothing but restaurant and bars.

Dis, just keep your ass in the desert.

don't you worry. I have no intention of ever setting foot in Texas again.

the motel I stayed in there just outside of dallas was full of dead cockroaches. True, it was better than live cockroaches. But it still left much to be desired.
