Well, I would insult your SO like you just did to me, but seeing as you'll be alone for the rest of your life, that seemed a bit harsh.

You know, I've never figured out why you come here or to Counterglow, because no one actually likes you at either place. Haven't you noticed yet?

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Yes, e.g., nobody's going to bust your nuts for wasting time in the Peace Corps.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

At least I don't stoop to insulting people's SOs like you've done repeatedly in your history.

When you have someone as perfect as myself, I guess that's what you've got to resort to.

Hey, on the bright side, at least you're not Asher!
Mostly I was just taking a piss. I don't want to be a millionaire porn editor/web developer or what ever but I do thik I should go to grad school and try to upgrade my skills a bit. I'd also like to get better at the guitar.

yup -- that actually seems to fit me. While there are people who make way more money than me, my job and income are good enough for the things I want to do . . . So I basically don't pay much attention to it all

It helps that none of my friends (other than the very odd, messed up one I mentioned before) are significantly better off that we are (plus, given how much he's prone to bull****, I can't even be sure about his wealth). So we don't have somebody's financial success in our face all the time. Still, even if we did, such financial success often requires putting in hours at the office which would be unacceptable to me, which would remove or at the very least dull any envy I might have.
