IMO Oerdin is doing just fine. He has a good/decent job, owns a house (though he don't live in it), has supportive father, has the respect of his friend and countrymen for his service and random jaunts into Central America/Mexico, lives in San Diego, is a bachelor living it up... heck, what more do you want!? Enjoy now, because most of that will be gone one day...

Seriously, dude, would you really rather be a millionare who got his money from porn?

I have an old friend who made a ton of money via a mixture of domain registration, porn, spam, pre-paid telephone cards and other quasi-legal stuff. He lives in Miami, drives fancy cars, etc. But he's not happy, and he's going to crash & burn (it's just a matter of when - I KNOW him). His life sucks, actually. The "life" of being rich in Miami wears on him. He's hugely overweight. He's getting divorced (for the 3rd time, the 2nd time from this wife... long story there). His parents barely tolerate him. He came up to visit a while back and spent most of the time talking about what a nice, normal life I have (in my 3-bedroom cape, with my Honda, etc).

I'll never make the money he made. I'll never blow $500,000 playing poker in Atlantic City, either.

Worry about your own ****, man.

I usually drive an 8 year old Honda Civic-- I could afford much newer/better but why? Our other Vehicle is a . . . .two year old Toyota Sienna -- don't drool too much---

Now we have a nice house--But we didn't get it to compete with anyone. WE got the things we could afford and that we thought would make a very comfortable living space. Our house was bigger than we needed but given the increase in housing prices in our city, it has been an EXcellent investment. Since 90% of our acquiantances never see our house, its hardly a show-off thing
