That's what I suspected. Yet as evidence in this thread you're not opening hearts or even curiousity, but perhaps the opposite. Look at the fruits of your labor. How old are you? You remind me of inept Puddy from Seinfeld blurting out to Elaine she's going to Hell so all she does is get pissed. In hindsight don't you see a more tactful effective way? A disrespectful preacher is not a more effective preacher. Even if your real person-to-person social skills are horrible, why would you think Apolyton would be the most effective medium???

You're missing the real point, Pyrodew. After reading the average Philosophiser post and trying to follow the logic, your average person immediately clenches his head in his hands and exclaims, and I quote here: "Jesus, my brain hurts!" So, simply by posting a few dozen lines on the internet, Philo has managed to get countless atheists praying to their savior, albeit unwittingly.

I said earlier I expected the thread to hit 2+pages because of his unique disposition. And using the word "Jesus" in a sentence doesn't make it a prayer. Some people name their kids Jesus (some which have died), that doesn't mean atheists are unwittingly praying to them.

It is not the duty of a preacher of the gospel to win anyone over, but simply to preach the truth. Only God can win someone over. Noah, the most righteous man on earth, preached and not a single soul believed. You can only believe if God enables you to believe. Otherwise you are predestined to damnation.

Similar examples- for all of Moses' exhortations hardly any Israelites remained obedient to God. Also see Jeremiah the weeping prophet who everyone ignored, and Isaiah. Unless God opens your eyes, you cannot believe.

"And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed." (Acts 13:48)

"Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, God hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." John 12:39,40.

Catholics teach another gospel and therefore are in great danger of eternal damnation. The gospel of salvation by works is not what is taught in the Bible. The Roman Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon. It is filled with idolatry and superstition and false mediators. Idolaters will go into the lake of fire. If you are one of those traditional Catholics then the best thing for you to do is smash all the idols in your Latin Mass chapel and convert to the true gospel. IF you are one of those Vatican II Catholics then just talk to your priest and see if he even believes the resurrection was an historical event. Most Vatican II priests are homosexual modernists who often do not even believe in the divine infallibility and inspiration of the Holy Scripture.

The animal and fibre separation laws were symbols meant to remind the Jews to be a separated people from the Gentile heathen nations. I urge everyone to consider the reality of a life without Christ- it is a life of meaninglessness, a life of aimlessness, a life of darkness, and eventually- a life of eternal damnation. Repent and believe the gospel! Christ challenges all men this day to believe in Him. Thats all it takes to be set free. You're right and I'd say S Korea is doing quite well for itself and will continue to do so for as long as God blesses that land as He has. Compare S Korea with N Korea on a satellite nighttime photo and you'll see that S Korea is totally lit up with lights, while N Korea is completely dark.

As far as James goes- he says no such thing. James is talking about our justification before men. The gospel teaches justification before God by faith alone:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (Acts 10:43)

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. So what is James talking about? Hes not talking about Justification before God, but JUSTIFICATION BEFORE MEN. Hes saying- "well you claim to believe in Jesus, but I don't believe it unless you show my your faith by your deeds. So if you want to justify yourself before me, you need to show me that God is working in you and your faith is real."

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Notice he says... the man SAYS you have faith.... well James says thats not good enough for men, we need to see faith in action.

James= Justification before men. Also, another important point that James is making is that whoever truly believes in Jesus Christ will have the Holy Spirit working in Him. The Holy Spirit inevitably produces "good fruit" or good deeds, which is the proof that a person truly believes. John states it this way:

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3)
