theres no punctuation at all, which leads to some pretty nifty debates about interpretation, since depending on how you parse the text you can get some very different readings.

Wow now youve really given me something to think about.

Wait a minute, what "Calvinist rulers of the Earth?"

I checked wikipedia, they've got listed under "Presbyterians":

Sam Walton of Wal-Mart fame, now deceased.
              Donald Rumsfeld.
              Condoleeza Rice.
              Bill Frist.

Okay, not bad. Until you look at the other denominations. George W. Bush is a Methodist, about half the SCOTUS is Catholic, a massive number of Baptists occupy various important positions...the Anglicans have a slew of 'em too. Oprah, the "most powerful celebrity on Earth," is not specified, but iirc she's got some sort of weird quasi-pantheist sympathies. Bill Gates is also unspecified.

...and for that matter jewish bankers were so pre-world war one. Fundamentalists typically have a healthy disrepect for historical accuracy.

Fully one quarter of all US Presidents have been Episcopalians. We're not Calvinists, you can take my word for that!

Methodism and the Salvation Army are technically off shoots of the Anglican church.

Calvinists would include the Baptists, Congregationalists, Presbyterians, Reformed, Brethern, and a number of smaller denominations too numerous to list.

The funny thing is that in the US when a "calvinist" becomes wealthy he often converts to Episcopalian. Examples of these would include the Rockerfellers, Carnegies, Bushes, and Fords.

Anyone have any referrence concerning what portion of European bankers in the 18th and 19th centuries have been Jewish? I'll bet the number is much smaller than either Adolf or CivNation thought.

Didn't most of those sects abandon the emphasis on predestination in the early 1800's?

People are forgetting a very important thing about those who defect from the true gospel as well as the percentage of Christians that are specifically "Calvinist".

First of all, you don't need to be a Calvinist to be a Christian. To be a Christian you need to trust in Jesus Christ by faith alone for the forgiveness of all of your sins- especially as pertains to faith in his crucifixion, death, and resurrection! Therefore baptists and many others who are unclear on the Biblical truth of predestination would be counted as among the elect, even if they don't understand the concept of predestination or election.

Secondly, even for those who are no longer Christian or have defected to an apostate liberal Christian denomination- God promises to bless the children of a faithful person for a number of generations after that person. Therefore, it is quite possible for a person to be rich because he is "free riding" on the blessings that God promised to that person's parents, or grandparents, or great grandparents and not because of any faith or obedience of his own.

In fact, it is my prediction that because of Europe's incredible apostasy from the Christian faith, it has about one or two more generations before it totally disintegrates under the wrath of God and becomes subject to incredible Divine Judgments. The only reason why it is staying afloat now is because of the previous faithfulness of many of the grandparents and great grandparents of these now apostate Europeans.

For information on Calvinism and the truths of God, and the blessings of the Lord, I refer you to www.chalcedon.edu and all of the wonderful books published by the late Calvinist Rushdoony. Gary North is also an excellent source on Christian Economics.

Just as God curses unto the third and fourth, so He will bless in the same way because of His goodness. The next generational cursing could be negated by teh faithfulness of that next generation, but usually God hardens the wicked heart of that next generation and therefore it is unable to believe.

The last truly faithful European generation was probably the generation just prior to WWI. We're looking at total European disintegration into a worldclass laughingstock probably in the next 50 years. Europe is already a statist regime that exhibits almost 0 economic growth and is characterized by a population that is dwindling in number against a large influx of Muslim immigrants. The LORD is causing Europe to crumble before her enemies because of its rampant unfaithful mocking of God.

One other important point- the presence of faithful God fearing Christians in a nation causes blessings to flow down even to those who are not faithful. Indeed the whole nation can be blessed because of the righteousness of its Christians. Therefore pagans and others will share in the wealth of Christian prosperity as God blesses the entire nation on behalf of the faithful elite who fear Him.

John Calvin really deserves some praise. He combined all of the potential paradoxes in Christianity into one denomination, and that takes some doing. Due respect, and all that.
