so russians are ancient macedonians? this is a new theory....

And i will like this Greek guy to explain why from about 60-70 known words from ancient Macedonia about 50 are used even today in my language.
first explain me why there is no written evidence of this 70-words(!) supposed "ancient macedonian" language, while the entire area of macedonia is spread with artifacts in greek writing...

actually, you do whatever you want to them

anyway, i dont the palestinian history claims, but the difference is that they dont promote their supposed history as a means of "liberating" their "enslaved brothers"....

i'm just saying that i dont give much credit to gene pool surveys. they are not exact, statistics get involved and when statistics get involved you can any kind of argument you like

The Panslavists must hate people like Dino with a passion.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Oh my God, I can't believe that people like you really exist.
I've lived in Thessaloniki all my life.
Every single woman and man I've met in my life in this city is Greek and speaks Greek.
I've NEVER met anyone claiming to be "Macedonian" or speaking the so-called "Macedonian" language.
I don't know maybe I was raised in a wrong way and Alexander really never spoke Greek (although all the historic data say he did) and maybe he was an enemy of the Greeks and he was proud to be a slavic Macedonian or whatever else you may believe. Who knows... I may be a victim of Greek propaganda.
But FFS, don't tell me that nowdays in the... Hitleric Greece, in the city called Thessaloniki exist people that are like you and speak the same language as you.
Because if you do believe it, I pity you for your gross ignorance.

I'm not into this politic discussion, but the Macedonians were Semi-Greeks. They underwent strong Greek cultural influences thanks to the fact that quite a few Greek cities were closeby which is a natural thing of course. Nevertheless as far as I know they weren't seen as true Greeks. Being Greek is more a feeling than anything else really and it's not because Macedonians started copying typical Greek things that they were seen as actual Greeks... But like many things, after a while they were seen as Greeks, not in the least because Alexander himself considered all things Greek to be superior.

There are a good number of things that were a bit strange for Greeks though. They were a kingdom with a sizeable territory and not a city state, and before the 4th century they were not developed in the same sense as most other Greeks were
                          that's what i think anyway

I wonder if you realize that "fyromian" is extremely offensive to all the people I spoke with when I was in Skopje. While you might indeed be correct on everything you have argued, I would hope that you would show them some common respect. It's not as if calling them "Macedonian" makes you less of a man or something.

This is what happens when all you have to cling to is some semblance of greatness 2000 years ago. So sad.
