      No, really.

Alexander was Macedonian. Cleopatra was Macedonian. Catherine was German. Victoria was German. Washington was British. Napoleon was Corsican.
Washington was born in America though, which is what he shares with all of the other Americans of that time period, even if they were also British.

actually they claim he was a muslim, as were all prophets, which's pretty much the same.

And I hardly see how this is a critical difference. Might as well have pointed that Israel and the palestinians aren't as far north as greece and macedonia ( which is just as irrelevant )

the real difference is that when Greece became predominantly slavic, there was a Byzantine Emperor around to quickly repopulate it with Greeks from Anatolia. Whereas the ordinary Jews had to repopulate Judea on their own, and this took centuries.

Its good to be the Byzantine Emperor

ah yes, famous Demosthenes (whose name's origin i understand therefore he was a greek like alexander ).

what you dont realize (or rather, tend to want to ignore) is that Demosthenes was trying to get Athenians' opinion against Philip. And the best way to attack a Greek was to call him a barbarian. Yet this simple quote has become a "flag" for fyromian nationalists...

the issue is not that they claim the name of Macedonia. many greek politicians have actually made suggestions which included the word "macedonia" in the sense of geographical term. the issue remains though that they claim greek history and territory (see map above)

yeah, well palestinians claim they're the canaanites, as well ( hint, they're not: no cultural evidence, no linguistic evidence ). Does this mean we can do whatever we want to them? of course not.

This Slavic teory is comunist one when we all had to be Slavic to lower the differance betwean the nations in Yugoslavia but now tha theory is abandonet as a false one becouse the facts show different.
And the new foundings are going toward that we didnt come frome Russia but that Macedonians went there.
Fact is tha in Macedonia dont live much blond people as history says for Slavs.
And i will like this Greek guy to explain why from about 60-70 known words from ancient Macedonia about 50 are used even today in my language.
With respect other words are Greek but even today in my language many Englesh words have found their way and we know that Greece in that time was culturaly very advanced.
And the other fact is if you read Slavic mithology you will find much similarities betwean Slavic and socalled Greek gods.

                                You're a funny one.

Incidentally, possibly as much as 50% of the modern Greek gene pool is of Slavic derivation.
