                                I was pretty torn while taking the test, as I could have had a really high Dixie score. I'm bi-dialectic. My mother was from Arkansas (and I lived there off and on for a total of probably 3 years). My father was from Oregon, though he lived in Vermont for 5 years as a child. I lived in Michigan for 17 years, which explains the upper midwest influence.

                                The reason that a lot of Brits are seeing some Dixie / Yankee score is that (like British English) these dialects are more likely to have archaic terms and pronunciations than the others.
                                He's got the Midas touch.
