I was pretty torn while taking the test, as I could have had a really high Dixie score. I'm bi-dialectic. My mother was from Arkansas (and I lived there off and on for a total of probably 3 years). My father was from Oregon, though he lived in Vermont for 5 years as a child. I lived in Michigan for 17 years, which explains the upper midwest influence.
The reason that a lot of Brits are seeing some Dixie / Yankee score is that (like British English) these dialects are more likely to have archaic terms and pronunciations than the others.He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!
