Texas is far more evil than Oklahoma. They will still lose to OU.

    ACK!

That would explain all the yahoos trying to outdo each other in clamoring for the Almighty's attention, though by that measure, God may need to check his Rolodex for Florida and Georgia, too, among others.

Hell, Auburn is basically run by a booster... what's more evil than that?
Ask the guys who told you that if they think Lowder has as much power as Leeburn.

(For the record, Lowder, while being quite a power broker, isn't the boogeyman he's been made out to be. But, such is the lot of one who f*cks with the Journalism department.)

OU isn't evil, btw. They live in Oklahoma, for Christ's sake. They need every outlet they can get. And this is coming from someone who lived among them for a couple of years.

Florida and Georgia have civilized areas, so they aren't totally untouched by the Lord's grace.

He kind of almost got the coach who'd lead the team to an undefeated season fired right before said undefeated season

        • Georgia has one, the one you know well. I'm convinced God keeps tabs on Florida simply for the entertainment value.

Except not so much. He was part of the group doing that, but that group included the acting president. Contrary to popular belief, the president came to that decision on his own, specifically in the immediate aftermath of the Georgia Tech game early in the season. The fact that they used a Colonial plane and Lowder's pre-existing popular boogeyman status made it easy for the perception to form that it was solely his doing. I don't often play the "inside source" card, but on this, I do have pretty reliable info that never made the papers.

          • Speaking of rivalries, it seems like things are right with the world when a highly-ranked USC team is playing a highly-ranked ND team.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

                It's a pretty big 'one' though .

                • Granted, but (a) it's more of an oasis than anything representative of the rest of the state, (b) I'm not sure God goes there much anymore and (c) it's still full of damn dirty Georgites.

                  • It's quite a BIG oasis . The metro area is over a third of the population of the state .

God doesn't go to the center city, but hangs out in the s****y suburbs .

                    And better Georgians than Alabamans

I grew up right on two state lines. The good news is that I have three states I can somewhat claim to hail from originally, allowing me to play a shell game when Alabama makes national news. The bad news is the other two are Georgia and Florida.

                        • Wisconsin is getting some major love in the Poly Poll. Look good so far, but I wonder how they'll do against a team like Ohio State (do they play this year?)

                          • Actually Wisonsin has a decent chance of running the table. They don't play Michigan State or Ohio State this year. Thier only games against ranked opponents this year are #24 Michigan (who they already beat) and at #18 Penn State.

The Big 10 has to do something about that. Purdue doesnt play Michigan or OSU and Wisconsin doesnt play MSU or OSU. They should probably add a team and go to 2 divisions with 6 teams in each and a conference championship game.

Then the Big 10 could have 12 teams instead of 11.

                            • Ok, yes Wisconsin has a good team and yes they have a chance to run the table and make it to the Rose Bowl, but they are nowhere near as good as they were last year and look what happened to them with the last three games.

                              Good team? Yes.
                              Ranked top 25? Yes.
                              Top ten? No.

And this is from a biased Badger fan.
