He's the freakin' lookout, but the ship's wrecked, so he's using the bloody church tower to lookout to see when the bleedin' Royal Navy boat has gone away. The navy boat is a bloomin' plot device to force the pirates to stay on the island so the freakin' mafia can kill them all.
Anyone else need me to explain to them why its dark at night (hint : the sun is gone)

Hmmm... there were constant references to the church throughout the story, and the missionary FlameFlash acted rather aggressively and angrily toward the pirates, so he may be brutal enough to do this.Comment
