      An obviously flawed analogy. Quite apart from the whole "personhood of the fetus" issue, the killing of abortion doctors does nothing to lower the demand for abortion, which is driven by the women seeking it. They'll find other doctors, or backstreet abortionists.
      Jack - personhood is a side-issue. Glad to see you avoided that route.

      However, how will war save people? How will killing all of Saddam's forces stop people from dying in Iraq?
      War, in itself, will not correct anything.

      Then who DOES have that right? God?
      As a Christian, I would say yes. If I were not a Christian, I would say that no other person has the right to kill another innocent person, regardless of the rationale behind the killing.

          I fail to see how NOT killing at least SOME of Saddam's forces will stop people dying in Iraq.

          But I agree that war in itself will not solve the problem. That's where humanitarian aid, reconstruction and nation-building come in.

          ...I hope.

                Yes, I think so too.

                There are confusing reports from the north. First the Kurds agreed to leave Kirkuk to the Americans, but there are also claims that fighting has started there, and that the Turks will try to seize it.

                  I'm sure nobody expected the Turks would turn the northern front into an unfathomable mess.
                  I guess they really want to make the Kurds useless, to avoid them having any legitimacy in the future.
