Young men who say gays go to Hell whilst ignoring the fact that sleeping around with chicks (as they do) is far more likely to send them to Hell. I'm sure when they get there Satan will really rub salt into their festering pustules by quoting that line from Jesus about removing the plank from your own eye before telling others about the speck in their eyes.

            Or something.

What he does say is "All have sinned and fallen short of the Law." No exceptions. Not even you Paiktis.

Boris, Capitol Punishment is not contradictory to biblical teachings, although I'm against CP for other reasons. It is wrong to kill innocent human beings, while not necessarily wrong to kill human beings who kill others.

Dinodoc- the passage you cite actually defends the right to a proper trial. I don't know what you mean by 'christian forgery.'

              John 5-6; 9-10
"In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him."
"At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

                Troll/Threadjack alert:

Where is this Hell? Is it a place? Is it a state of mind? Is it the last thought that goes through your mind? Can I post a letter there? Come on. No one has ever seen Hell or Heaven. How can you constantly threaten people with something for which there is absolutely no evidence.

If you can get into Hell, you must be able to get out.

                From near death experiences:

Drowning victims come back talking of a tunnel of light with all of their relatives waiting for them.

Heart attack victims, when you can get them to talk, come back talking of hellish visions.

Sounds to me to be strictly a bio-chemical side-effect.
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

People who understand the scientific method and yet still buy into religion. (I know, I'm in for it now)

People who honestly believe that the USA has the moral right to tell others they can't have Nukes because they aren't responsible enough to have them, while still believing we are justified in keeping ours. *please note that wanting to limit the spread of nukes w/o the moral blather is, IMO, another story*

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

MosesP, I had a college biology professor who was also quite a devout Christian, and he said he had no doubt that "Near Death Experiences" were entirely the by-product of chemical processes in the brain. This miffed some of the Christian students in the class, who were convinced such things were proof of life after death.

                        What happens when we die?

Martin Luthor once said that he looks forward to the time when he hears a knock on his coffin saying, "Dr. Martin- Get up!"

In other words, nothing happens until the second coming when the dead are resurrected. This is an issue of some debate within Christianity, because the exact sequence of events are not clear.

The truth is we don't really know what Hell is apart from an eternal seperation from God. Lakes of fire are not mentioned anywhere in the bible.

MosesPresley- one has come back from the dead, and lived to tell his tale. All he offered was a glimpse at what life would be like in Heaven rather than in Hell. The carrot, rather than the stick. Just the idea of having our fleshy imperfections fall away sounds pretty good to me.

"besides God would send you to hell if you havent lived your life in my book"

Paiktis, I don't think he likes using a book he hasn't written.

Simple. The SM requires empircal data and logic. Religion, on the other hand, is all about faith in the absense of empirical evidence or logic.

Zorba the Greek packaged with the Last temptation of Christ for $21.99 US?

                                That's not a bad deal.

                                Wonder how many they've sold.
