Eradicate it? Maybe, maybe not. Certainly not easily. But Hamas isn't in very good condition these days - much of it's military wing (at least those in the West Bank) has been killed or imprisioned.

Gaza, IIRC, which makes it somewhat more difficult to deal with.

yes we can do that , but we dont want any children or innocent people being hit , ......

the terrorist put people in the buildings they have , older and young people , , single woman , etc , ...... a sniper gets on the roof and shoots , when we fire in selfdefense with a .50 and hit the floors below there is the risk of innocent bystanders getting hit , we dont want that , .....

if certain units would get a "catre blanche" for 4 to 6 weeks they would be out of work , ...... but there is the risk that more then 100 people get the farm , ..... and that risk is to great , ......

off course a single man with a gun might get something done , ......

Certainly the (re)building up of a Palestinian economy is something that is goig to play an important role in a succesful peace proccess and a stable Palestinian state. But unless the terrorist infrastructure is completely dismantled (and a Palestinian government exists that will work at preventing that infrastructure from rebuilding), it's all to easy for the money (or the products that money is used for) to be diverted to use for terrorism, which just brings the thing back to square one.

Paikitis, how long did it take for the greeks to get rid of their terrorist organization? How long have Spain fought ETA? And these are organizations without popular support... Hamas has tremendous popular support, and it is impossible to eradicate without removing that popular support somehow.

Now, sane and civilized people suggests removing the support by ending the occupation.

Israel suggests ending the support by mass deportation or genocide.

The palestinians are fighting for their survival. Israel is fighting to steal some more land. Do you really think it is feasible for boht parties to step back from the conflict?
