On the subject of cheese...
Why is it so difficult to get decent Parmesan round here - we keep buying different brands, but they all end up like tasteless rubber, for Parmesan...
So Finbar, where o where do they hide the good stuff...

There's plenty of the legit stuff around. You'll pay $40+ per kilo (or part thereof). I'm just trying to think of somewhere close to you. If you want one of the better cheese selections in Sydney and you feel like a trip to Pyrmont - Simon Johnson Providore, 181 Harris Street, Pyrmont. Lebanese cucumber is a variety - as you know - rather than the (as it were) source. It's commonly called "burpless" cucumber. I certainly wouldn't do my weekly shop at SJ, but it's great for the hard-to-find imported stuff.There's some other stuff that's expensive here too:
