Are you pointing the finger at me or somebody else? I would like to know specifically if it is me? Because I am not anti-Christian, I dislike bible-thumping extremists though.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

If I were to point out things where God had his hand at work, you would try to disprove that God had any play in it at all. That is why I don't want to waste my time, not because I am a lunatic. And you would refuse to believe there was a God if he slapped you in the face and told you to listen to Him for the simple reason that you don't WANT to believe that there is a God. You enjoy pissing off Christians, and you know it. You think you are God. But if you are so powerful then live forever.

            I'm not anti-Christian, I'm against Christian Oppression.

I know many Christians that I have no problems with in this respect (MrFun is one of them in fact), I just hate it when they march around talking about how homosexuality is a sin, etc.

They should get off their moral high horse and tolerate people who are different. Not everyone wants to live life like them.

Your argument is nothing more than a rehashed "those people against intolerances are intolerant themselves" approach, which doesn't really work well...

But it is a sin. Just because people do it doesn't make it right. It's like jumping off a brigde or walking around naked. Sure, you can do it, and some people do, but it doesn't make it right or okay to do just because people do it. And what harm is there in walking around naked? It is the way you were born after all. Still isn't right.

Just because an archaic book says it's a sin doesn't make it wrong, either. Particularly when that book has said many other things that no Christians enforce...

I would think you'd be a disgrace to true Christians everywhere.

It is not 'Christian Oppression' when a Christain has an opinion.

hmm.... so you just hate it when they express their opinions?

They should get off their moral high horse and tolerate people who are different. Not everyone wants to live life like them.
I agree. So why don't you dismount then?

No it is not. You (or at least the others were) are criticising him for his Christianity - not his intolerance (which has nothing to do with Christianity).

There is no reason to believe in God. These 'displays of God's miracles' or whatever are very easy to dispute and it seems to be more a matter of the Christian trying to interpret whatever he feels like from the thing.

And no God has slapped me in the face, nor is he ever likely to, therefore the God hypothesis is extremely implausible and is not worthy of rational consideration as a worldview.

I do not claim to be omnipotent either. I am a man of science, I want to know the answers, the truth of the matter. Not be swayed by thousands of year old fallacies. Finding the answers of the universe requires hard work and perseverence, not yielding to ignorance and the few who claim to offer solutions but really know nothing.

You are just getting in a flap because you can't come up with a convincing argument.

And Rogan, you should be aware by now that anyone who comes out with hatred and bigotry will be called to task for their outlook. They must be questioned, their reasoning scrutinised, and really shown why they are full of s**t.

Just because you don't believe it doesn't make it any less valid. You may not believe that there are numbers, but there are. You might believe that there are numbers, but that 2+2=5. You would be wrong. I "comprende", but I think that you are wrong.

I also think that just about everyone who claims to be a Christian today is really a disgrace to true Christians, myself included. But God is merciful, no?

It certainly is when that opinion is the same one that drafts laws that everyone has to live under, and essentially makes a group of people 2nd class citizens accordingly.

hmm.... so you just hate it when they express their opinions?
I hate it when they express their opinions of intolerance. Likewise, I hate it when racists talk as well.

I agree. So why don't you dismount then?
Because they have faith, and no amount of logic will stop that with these types.

No it is not. You (or at least the others were) are criticising him for his Christianity - not his intolerance (which has nothing to do with Christianity).
They go hand in hand in this case. He's stated himself that he doesn't like homosexuality because it's a sin, and it's a sin becuase Christianity said so.

Sorry Rogan, I realize you're Christian and I wasn't directing my comments at you, but the hardline Christians like this guy.

It certainly does when you're debating something. When you're arguing with someone who doesn't share the same faith as you, using an argument based on your faith goes nowhere and you might as well just stay out of the whole thing.

You may not believe that there are numbers, but there are. You might believe that there are numbers, but that 2+2=5. You would be wrong. I "comprende", but I think that you are wrong.
