  • how long before Tests are added to the list?
    November possibly

    The Leicester Joe Bugner!
In that I don't know who I am or what I'm doing most of the time?

How is old Hungarian/Brit/'Genuine Aussie bloke' Bugner these days?

Did you note the prices the bookies have for the Tri-Nations?
NZ as red hot odds on favourites - oh yes. But they have entered almost every tri-nations as that. Without wanting to upset Caligastia unduly where the Wallabies have the knack of pulling off upsets time and time again NZ have the same knack of losing games they should have wrapped up by half time.

I almost choked when you beat them at Dunedin last year.

Let's say the Tigers stopped the Boks?
Martin Johnson single handed as it happens.

I see Nathan Williams (former reds, latterly of Stade Francais) has signed for Quins here. At 26 I take it he has given up on any chance of wearing the green and gold?

Still floating around, still making quite a good living, still parlaying a moderate talent into a sort of "celebrity" status. He does shopping centre openings, that sort of thing. His wife - the monstrous Marlene - is the brains behind the outfit. It's sort of typical of this country that they should take someone like Joe - not quite a fraud, because he was quite talented in his day, but nowadays milking it - to their hearts. God I hate this country.

To quote Homer Simpson: "Mmmmmmmmm ... Dunedin". Wasn't it blissful?

He was never close. Actually, Manny Edmonds - Waratahs half-back and full-back who has played for Australia - is nicking off to France. Perpignan, I think. Very very good player on his day. He's struggled with injuries, and, when he's had his chances, hasn't really taken them, unfortunately. Then, he would get a game and star. Then, he'd put in a couple of ordinary ones. He played both Australia A games against the French and starred. His future with the Waratahs looked a bit ordinary behind Duncan MacRae.

Outnumbered? Finbar supports the Wallabies and I support the All Blacks. The only country with more than one supporter posting here is France, and its 3-2 in favor of NH posters here...

I think it's a fine idea, though. Even if it's only fantasy money. We could use one of the Sports Bet organisations' figures for odds and points spreads. For example, there are 4 major Australian Sports Bet organisations. This morning, they all have Australia at 5/1 on (that's 1/5 against) to beat France. Invest one dollar, you win twenty cents (plus your dollar back). They are offering between 4/1 and 9/2 against the French winning. Which renders the French a mighty fine bet in a field of two, IMHO.

The odds for the Tri-Nations are interesting too. All 4 organisations have the ABs favourites at between 6/4 and 7/4 (that's 1 1/2 to 1 and 1 3/4 to 1) against winning. Australia are second favourites at between 2/1 and 5/2 (that's 2 1/2 to 1) against. The Boks are between 8/1 and 10/1 against.

I'll look for figures on the Boks-Pumas.
Betting with fantasy money could be fun. How much should we all start with? Can we go into negatives if we lose too much?

Do you have a link to that site that was showing odds Finbar? Ive never organised anything like this before...

Finbar is the only one to respond to this idea so far, are the rest of you interested?

            Hope not

I didn't mean outnumbered in terms of nationality, more in terms of outloook on the game. You know, like in yours and Finbars strange assertions that SH officials are anything more than passable.

Sorry to launch a bad vibe on you there Finbar. Wish I could tell you I think here is better in that regard - can't though. best stop now given my promise to Caligastia to avoid the P word.

I caught a little of Edmonds during the Lions tour. Solid player but suspect concentration (takes his eye off the ball on occassion)? Perpignan is a fascinating choice as their strength is based around their forwards - still we beat them home and away in Europe last season (you knew I couldn't resist telling you that?)

I'd rather it was McCrae going to France because the violent little chap would learn a little humility there (the French would soon sort him out)?

Oh gawd you are going to bring him in November as cover for Larkham aren't you. I tell no word of a lie when I tell you he is generally as welcome here as Healey is down there. And don't ever think of taking him to Ireland on tour - the boys there still want a word.

It's a real shame he has this violent aspect to him as he is growing into a fairly good half back at Waratahs (and at A level?).

What about Tamerlin and LDiCesare? Are you guys interested?

First of all we have to decide which currency we're going to bet in! Oz$ or US$ or those stupid Euro things! I'm really going to miss my suitcasefuls of Lire!

I got those figures out of the Sydney Morning Herald. They have them every Friday, covering all the major Oz betting companies. Some of them would have websites, but you wouldn't get a site with all of them listed.

Mais non! Vous avez votre collegues francais! You outnumber us trois to deux there, aussi.

He's capable of more than solid. He can be terrific. Great runner with the ball. But you're right, it could be his concentration that's suspect. I think he's better off at fullback - he also prefers it - rather than halfback because there's a lot less immediate pressure.

I'd rather it was McCrae going to France because the violent little chap would learn a little humility there (the French would soon sort him out)?
That was a bizarre incident. He's always been aggressive, but never that much. He regrets it.

Oh gawd you are going to bring him in November as cover for Larkham aren't you. I tell no word of a lie when I tell you he is generally as welcome here as Healey is down there. And don't ever think of taking him to Ireland on tour - the boys there still want a word.
He might or might not go. I think he should, he's a very very good player. Good ball skills, terrific at finding holes, very quick and strong. He was almost singlehandedly responsible for turning that "A" match around last Tuesday night. It depends on what plans they have for Matt Rogers, who is being gradually - too gradually, I think - introduced to playing close in. And I suspect Duncan will happily go anywhere and take whatever's coming right on the chin. As it were.

Yes, but it depends on where Havak stands on Britain and Europe, doesn't it? He might prefer to chew his own arm off before he utters the word "Euro". Not that I'm remotely suggesting anything political, of course.

Well I wouldnt object to pounds either. Whatever we can all agree on I suppose.

                              • Fantasy Rugby Betting seems a great idea and I wouldn't have had any request about the money (even some Civilization Gold would have been cool, we are on Apolyton) but unfortunately I'am on holydays for two weeks and I'am leaving for a place where I won't have any link to Internet (I know, it's awful, terrible...).

                                Have fun !
