    Oops !

Sorry for the confusion Finbar, I haven't seen the match so I won't make any comments. I have read the French players have lost they temper which is a bad thing.

I guess I have a bit overreacted on this issue.

      • Any predictions for the big games this weekend?

I'll try France to sneak the game by 1-3 points.
Pumas to beat SA by 5-7.

        • Risky bets youre placing there Havak.

As much as I would love for France to win I think Australia will win, but not by much. Also I expect SA will beat Argentina by at least 15 points.

Hmmm...I wonder if we could organise some kind of rugby betting pool...anyone else interested?

In terms of proof, puddings and the eating thereof - the Pumas arrived in South Africa and promptly lost to South Africa A 36-42.

No worries, Tamerlin. The original post - about the "A" match - was a while ago.

I haven't seen the match so I won't make any comments. I have read the French players have lost they temper which is a bad thing.
Two French A players were sent off for professional fouls in the last 10 minutes. France A had been leading comfortably but Australia A made a very strong comeback. They were bombarding the French line and I think there was some panic.

I guess I have a bit overreacted on this issue.
No. We all stand up for our teams. Havak more than anyone!

As I said earlier, the French pack - back to full strength - worries me. Despite Eddie Jones' best efforts, our pack isn't our strong point. If the French can control the ball better than they did last week, they could beat us.

Pumas to beat SA by 5-7.
Not if they couldn't beat the SA "A" team.

Goodoh. And Arthur Andersen can audit the books?

I think it's a fine idea, though. Even if it's only fantasy money. We could use one of the Sports Bet organisations' figures for odds and points spreads. For example, there are 4 major Australian Sports Bet organisations. This morning, they all have Australia at 5/1 on (that's 1/5 against) to beat France. Invest one dollar, you win twenty cents (plus your dollar back). They are offering between 4/1 and 9/2 against the French winning. Which renders the French a mighty fine bet in a field of two, IMHO.

The odds for the Tri-Nations are interesting too. All 4 organisations have the ABs favourites at between 6/4 and 7/4 (that's 1 1/2 to 1 and 1 3/4 to 1) against winning. Australia are second favourites at between 2/1 and 5/2 (that's 2 1/2 to 1) against. The Boks are between 8/1 and 10/1 against.

I'll look for figures on the Boks-Pumas.

                  • Australia A made a very strong comeback
As with all Australian teams you have to play them solidly for 80 minutes or they will come back at you like that

Of course A team fixtures mean very little in Australia anyway because they use partisan refs. Actually A fixtures in general mean very little as far as I am concerned - on a par with U-21 in fact.

We all stand up for our teams. Havak more than anyone!
I'm generally outnumbered so I have to fight my corner with gusto.

our pack isn't our strong point
It hasn't been for a long time, but who are world champions again? Make no mistake I rate the French forwards as far better then the Wallabies pack - but it never ceases to amaze me how you overcome such things.

My heart says France, and my head says Aus. Same with SA - I picked the Pumas because I want them to win. I don't seriously think they will - SA is a hard place to play - even your big boys of the SH find that.

Oh yeah remind me - what team was it in Dec 98 that beat the Boks and stopped them stealing the ABs record for consecutive wins (they were shooting for their 18th straight victory)?

Fighting my corner strong as ever?

                    • There is no doubt in my mind : France will win this second test match. It will be hard, but we will make it. Our team can't come back without a victory.

Mmm. So that's "A" matches, U-21 matches ... how long before Tests are added to the list?

It's called Aussie Ingenuity. OTOH, the World Championship was a couple of years ago now. Times change. Did you note the prices the bookies have for the Tri-Nations?

Well, the Tigers haven't had a run in your posts for a couple of days. Let's say the Tigers stopped the Boks?
