From what I've heard, the youth vote is the same as it was in 2000.
They always try to "get out the vote". But that seems to be a bunch of bull****.
The kids just don't care. If they did, perhaps Kerry could have won Ohio.
The percentage of the overall voters was the same. That means a lot more youths were out in force.
Unfortunately, the youth vote was the only age group that favored Kerry.

"If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama

Probably completely unrelated to anything, but it just struck me. I find myself feeling more sympathetic to John Kerry the person now that I know he's lost. My view on his political agenda hasn't changed (of course), but I actually feel a little sorry for him as a person now that it's all over, after digesting all the news and watching some additional footage.
A bit strange, does anyone feel the same way?
You'll feel more sympathetic in 4 years. Trust me.

I am distressed at bush being elected. But he finaly actually won.
Actaully I'm more than distressed, I shiznitting bricks right now. I have plans to move somewhere in Europe, that are becoming more and more real with each passing day of Bush's regime.
I wore all black today as a sign of mourning, but tomorrow I will wear my white "Bush is an as*h*le" T-shirt.
The revolution, my comrades, is at hand!! The mass migration to anywhere but the USA revolution. Which will be followed by the Bush citizen reclamation movement, which will require the conquering of other nations which may happen to have citizens who were at one time American in origin.

Hey Drachasor, nice to see you around. Tell me, how do you plan to fit all your surefire pre-election predictions in your pipe?
I was wrong on the voter issue, I freely admit that. All the pollsters and experts were wrong with me too.
That doesn't change the fact that Bush will make the country worse.
He'll increase the debt, increase the deficit, increase the hatred of the U.S. abroad, decrease our international leadership ability, increase terrorists, strengthen the national divides, and do some other pretty awful stuff.
Oh, and the fact that the people voting for Bush listed "terrorism" as one of their main concerns, but all terrorist targets went strongly for Kerry is an irony that everyone should seriously ponder.
