    It would be just like the Bambino to allow the Red Sox to claw back to a Game 7, only to *still* be denied in the end. Still... I'm nervous now. No way it should have gotten to this point, but them's the breaks.

    Speaking of which... the one solace with how Francona has managed is this: Who the hell pitches for Boston tomorrow? Lowe? Mendoza? Tim ****ing Wakefield?

    Regardless of which... Brown better bring the A-game.

                        Of course Wakefield can be long relief in case Lowe gets in trouble... or vice versa. Schilling's pitching into the 7th allows either to go for 3-4 innings if need be.

                          Yesterday I said Steinbrenner should go down there and scream these guys into shape-obviously he did not

                          2 runs in 17 innings- pathetic. Wrong time for an offensive meltdown....

                          Thats the thing-the pitching has been acceptable or good, but the offense died 2 days ago.

                            A Boston-Astros series would probably be the most interesting. Especially considering two of the Astros best players are ones they got from Boston for pretty much nothing. Not to mention Clemens.

                              Last time I looked we have lost more WS in the last three years than the Sox in the last 20- we knew FEAR last year, or in 2002 vs the Angels, or in 2001 versus the Diamondbacks.

                              This is less fear than anger, annoyance, and shame. The Yankees have preformed craptacularly in the last 2 games.
