    • Just one, apparently. They were speculating at the beginning whether the blotch on his ankle was the shot or the blood from the shot. Turns out to be blood

      • Looks like Schill might be done. 6 shutout innings, one solo HR in the 7th, got the rest afterwards.

        Schilling is back

            • A-Rod was shameful. That was so obviously a swipe... what a cheater.

                • And the second time, the umps reverse and make the correct call.

2 outs, Jeter back at first (instead of second)

Good job by the umpire crew.

                    • Don't the umps know that they're not holding up their end of the curse?

                      • Good job by the umps.

Big for AROD. Not because he did it, but because he is still denying it when a simple look at the replay shows that it is OBVIOUS he did.

Also, what was up with that breaking ball right down the middle on A-ROD that was called a ball?

                            • For those not watching the game, first Mark Bellhorn hit a homerun that bounced off a fan and was called a double, but then reversed and called a homerun after the umps conversed. That was back in the 4th.

Bottom of the 8th, A-Rod hit an infield ball, Arroyo went to tag him and A-Rod obviously swiped it away (automatic out). The 1st Plate ump wasn't well placed, and didn't see the swipe, so A-Rod went to second (ball was dropped) and Jeter scored to make it 4-3 with one out. Francona had the umps converse again, and again they reversed the call: A-Rod out, Jeter back at first (instead of second if he had just been tagged), 2 outs. New Yorkers were, of course, upset and started throwing stuff into the field.

Now, Cabrera hit an infield ball, they got the out at second, but Cabrera made it to first by a hair. The fans are still very upset from last inning. They pulled all the players off the field. They felt so strongly that the situation might get out of hand, they now have NYPD Officers in riot gear down each side of Yankee Stadium to protect the umps and the Sox.

                              Exciting game, this baseball.

                              • The Yankee hitters have folded like George W at an SAT....

The Sox have already done what no baseball team down 3-0 had ever done- and now the Yankees are primed to be on the losing end of something historic

The only thing we have left is the sense that Boston can only screw it up at the end- but given this run...

It is sad I may have to refer back to my old post, "that if we need a Sox win for Kerry to win, I won't mind the Sox's winning" But this was not the way something like that should happen.

If The Yankees lose this series, I have no idea what Steinbrenner will do- a historic failure is not something he will take lying down. Torre might go....

The only sad consolation is to know that if Boston wins it all (assuming they don;t continue their sad WS legacy), what has made Boston Fan's special will vanish- you can;t root for a loveable loser team if they win.
