no matter how much heart and soul Tampa Bay has they wont win anything. the 2001 Dbacks, 2002 angels, 2003 Marlins, and 2004 red sox are all better than yanks are in every catgory except for arrogance, payroll, and number of bandwagon fans.
    1. the Yankees have as many hardcore fans as the witless Sox's do. We get more "bandwagon fans" becuase we do win.
    2. The Yankees have not won a WS since 2000- and before 1996 had not won one since 1978. Yes, the Yankees in the last few years have been a great team, and I am happy with them.
    3. No, you are a psychzoid drone with manic depression.

You said the Yanks had no heart and soul- now you backtract-given the quality of your predictions...

The thing is, the Yankees are back each year even after the opther one-shot teams like the 2002 Angels burn out.

              Memo to LoA:

Whining about the Yankees' payroll is unacceptable from a Red Sox fan. The Yankees have a payroll of roughly $180 million. The Red Sox check in at $120 million. The next team, the Angels, is right around $100 million. So quit your whining, your team is rich too.

If a Twins fan wants to give me **** over the Yanks payroll, I'll grin and bear it. That's fine. The Twins have a $55 million payroll and yet were a playoff team. Good for them, and one does feel a little sorry for them (but *not* their obscenely wealthy owner). But the Red Sox? Enough with the "poor us" bull****.

Number of times yankees won the world series when their payroll wasnt #1 or #2 in the league: ZERO.

i guess there are some things that money can buy.

I'm really not sure about your payroll statement, LoA. I don't think the '96 Yanks were that high in the ranking... hang on a sec...

difference between yank and red sox payroll : 50%
difference between sox and angles payroll: 20%

                    do the math.

                      Nope, I was wrong, they were #1 in 1996. #2 in 1998. #1 in 1999 and 2000.

                      -Arrian, standing corrected.

And this has what to do with the fact that the Sox are the second highest-paid team in baseball and thus have zero right to cry poverty? Nada.

Hey, I'd laugh at an Angels fan ripping the Sox on the payroll issue. Any team over 100 million just doesn't get to play that card.

any team who has a convicted criminal as an owner has his deck removed.

and actually, any team under the yankees gets to play that card.

Whatever, even if you quit *****ing about the payroll thing, you'd just whine about something else.

                                3 hours to game time...

p.s. Hey, we live in a country whose capital re-elected a mayor right after he got out of jail! Steinbrenner is right in line with that.
