I think it'll be tough and tight one.. Canada takes over from the beginning, but US is able to hang in the first minutes and then they get to the game.. some scoring, but at the end.. they just can't stop Canadian onslaught. BUt it will be a tight game.In da butt.

I've always been anti-seperatist, but I never realised the possibly great implications of splitting Canada into two strong hockey powers. We'd finally have a deserving 8th contestant for the World Cup! (Sure, they'd be terrible on defence, but their up-front scoring and goaltending would be quite a sight!)
Plus, they'd have a pretty cool jersey made up with the fleur de lis... I'm thinking very Nordiquish.

Ooh what a great game this build up to be! Canada leads 2-1, but US came back... First period and up to the 2nd goal, US started looking like a 3rd world country hockey team, but they put on some aggression, and got back up there and started turning the control to their hands.. And Lemieux threw down some gloves too! Never guessed that would happen..

That game showed everything that I expected. Canada showed an ability to dominate a good team but good goaltending made it closer than the US deserved. The US showed grit and determination to fight back and showed the talent that allowed them to take the game to Canada for a little while.You don't get to 300 losses without being a pretty exceptional goaltender.-- Ben Kenobi speaking of Roberto LuongoComment

Today will tell a lot about the European groups as the Czechs face the Swedes. The Czechs were awful against Finland while Sweden looked sloppy in beating overmatched Germany. Will the "real " Czech team please stand up?
Later Canada gets the Slovaks . .. . Canada should be the better team but I actually fear a little let down after last night's win. I see Sweden has switched to Tellqvist for this game. Probably not a bad move.
