Yes, you claim the poll is accurate when you think it supports your position, and then you claim it is not accurate when it shows your opinion is faulty.

And then you said the poll is inaccurate because of the questions were not clear so it doesn't indicate what people really think.

How's the view down there in that hole you're digging.

I've never heard anyone saying "don't vote for him because he's from the west."

But of course we didn't have any political leaders from the west in this election.

I think it's because the province loves its victim mentality, just like Quebec...
I don't think that's it. I think the province is fine with itself, even if Calgary sucks to an Edmontonian, Edmonton sucks to a Calgarian, and big city folks are just plain strange to everyone else outside of Red Deer.

Of course, at one time, the French of Quebec did have something to ***** about, non?

Likewise, the average person here really does have a problem with how the country is run. That goes all the way back to the Crow, way before the NEP. So most people align themselves with the party they think will change things, and are repeatedly dissapointed when the people of Ontario and Quebec decide otherwise.

What they really don't like is being betrayed, dismissed or derided. They felt betrayed when Mulroney awarded patronage to Quebec and elsewhere when Western firms had better claims to the plumbs (better bids). they felt dismissed by Mulroney with his constitutional tinkering, and they've felt derided ever since when their reaction (Manning and Reform) were greeted the way they have been.

Klein put his head in the mouth of the lion when he spouted off during the campaign. Martin started to make hey with it. Klein then announced spending increases and nothing else as far as reform is concerned. For the trouble of being maligned nationally during a federal election campaign, the people of Alberta were then presented with a bill for massive spending increases, no reform of the system, and a party they pinned hopes on being thrashed in Ontario due to 'evil Albertan barbarians threatening health care'...

            Klein is toast.

Just like 20 years ago you had something to ***** about. I guess we'll be dealing with the fallout for the next 300 years or so...

You: So are you for or against killing the innocent unborn?
Cons candidate: Uhm, let me check the party position on that so I can tell you what I think. Oh, yes, some of the information available indicates the Conservative party says I can make up my own mind, so I can definitely tell you that if there is a free vote on this, I will definitely vote the way I think I should vote. Next question.
Actually, he had no clue as to where I'm coming from when I walked into his office. All I started with is whether or not he supports a woman's right to choose. Then I gave him enough rope to hang himself with.

In this case, he got flustered when I asked if he knew the current law, and whether he supported abortion up until the point of birth. I suggested 20 weeks might be appropriate, and he said that he had not looked into the situation enough to decide.

That tells me everything I need to know.

Quebec didn't vote for the liberals. In fact, if the Liberals had not lost any seats in Quebec the Liberals would have a razor-thin majority right now...

Do you think Harper might resign?

He had all the advantages and muffed it.

Just because they do not ask one question does not mean that they are inaccurate in the questions they do ask.

The status quo is abortion on demand, without restrictions, which is one of the questions asked by Gallup. Therefore I can accurately assess how many people agree with the status quo here in Canada.

You didn't listen to Martin on health care.

You must have missed the reference to barbarians at the gates.

You obviously missed the reference to Nazis.

The Conservatives this election were very much based from the West, still. Westerners are not stupid. They know when it is them and the ideas they hold dear that are being shredded by the PM, or referred to as barbaric or Nazi by others.

Tell me, how would Quebec react to the Bloc being treated thusly? Do you think Quebec would still be part of the country a few years after that?

                            Hardly.

Very possible. Apparently he really hates politics. I don't know how he will adjust to minority situations when he quit his own party (resigned and went back to private life) rather than compromise on ideas with its leader.

Yes, I don't recall Martin saying that the Conservatives were "Nazis". Yes, I missed the reference to "barbarians at the gates".

Even if he did say that, those phrases do not automatically equal westerners. Unless he said westerners are nazis and barbarians.
