Was there a true last episode? The last episode that I saw the Earth forces had managed to capture an important Chig moon, but the Chigs had come up with some deadly new stealth technology that could threaten to reverse the situation.

Oh, and the ST vs SW argument is just in good fun. I love to listen to all the backflips the pro-SW crowd go through to deny the deficiencies in SW technology that are so obvious in the movies. You have top just humor them Pax.

    • The last 2 episodes involved a chig coming aboard to negotiate a peace. I'll tell you what happened if you don't plan on seeing it.

What language do you speak? "point five past light speed" implies 1.5 times the speed of light. Show me something to the contrary written by George Lucas.
Second error: "SW weapons travel at a mere speed of light". This is actually an error in my favor; SW weapons are not lasers in the sense of coherent light - this is obvious from the movies which are canon. SW weapons actually travel SLOWER than lightspeed, but this actually doesn't mean anything, because of the

Third error: ST ships can't attack ships in realspace from warp; there are multiple example of ST ship attacking station from realspace. If they could attack from warp, why would they attack from realspace and expose themselves to enemy fire?
Actually they can and there have been a number of episodes in which they did, but if you whoosh past someone while you're in warp and he's not you're not going to get many shots in. Dealing with ships which are not warp capable ST ships can drop out of warp, fire, then go back into warp before the slower opponent has a chance to fire back.

Those scavengers that seemed like complete morons come to mind. I remember someone (Ryker?) scoffing at them and saying something to the effect of "they're using lasers! Can we really take them seriously?"

              • The simple and obvious answer to these little insane matchups is:tyhey could never happen..heck, they can;t even agree on the method of FTL travel.

So, returning to show quality, DS9 I think was better than ST:NG, if only becuase being centered in one place it could develop longer sotrylines with better character development.

B5 had the same advantage, and in not being an episodic show either many of its characters had very good arcs.

NBow, on B5-the interesting thing is that the show was as good as it was with so little stability and backing. I mean, look at the transition from season 1 to 2- JS replaces JS (jeffrey sinclair for john sheridan)-both had reelations with women working for IPX, bot started something with Delenn. I think, in fact, if JMS had not been forced to dump the guy who played Sinclair in order to bring in Bruce Boxleitner we would have seen Sinclairs girlfriend go to Zhahadum some time in season 2.

The Asgard and Replicators are faster than anything in SW or ST, this is true. But stronger? Not even on a ship-by-ship basis.

They had their own ship they were engaging Apothis' Mothership with.
