moderates will never leave because all moderates are too much chicken to do anything. moderates = dont care enought about what they believe in to do anything.

It's the Religious Right that aren't Republicans, not the moderates.

Be carefull what you wish for, you might get it. Your state pays less to the Fed Gov than it gets back.

the military could be cut a little. No doubt. It is still too large.

Education spending could also be cut.

*gasp*. Diss mentions cutting the uncuttable! Education!!

Face it, we aren't getting **** in return of the billions we are pouring into education. America's youth are a lost cause.

                    source?

we don't get **** back, except nuclear waste

Las Vegas isn't considered a terrorist threat for some reason, so we get very little money for homeland defense.

Our schools are the worst in the nation, so we get very little education money, because of the no child left behind act.

something about republican party discipline. i love the fact that if you disagree with something the party does, you must be a 'moderate' or 'liberal' and therefore not a true member of the republican party.

all the more reason to **** the parties in general and hope that they get completely, utterly destroyed. destroy them, and then ban political parties--all of them, for they are nothing more than political evil.

Too large? The US can't even manage an occupation of a third world country. Too expensive maybe, but not too large if you seriously intend to go around changing regimes.

maybe we shouldn't be changing regimes.

I remember Bush saying back in 2001 he wasn't into nation building.

Of course. However the fact remains that the US has too few boots to put on any ground to be able to maintain commitments and take on what must qualify as a 4th world country at the same time as a moderately sized 3rd.

If you don't have the manpower to do it right, maybe regime changes should be passed over. I was and am in favour of getting rid of Saddam, but I don't fancy him being replaced by something worse 5 years from now on account of the US administration radiacally underestimating manpower requirements for subduing a hostile nation.
