You are putting words in his mouth.

He said neoconservativism is stupid, he did not say the people who believe them are stupid.

Would you say William Shockley is stupid? Yet he believed that blacks were inherently stupider than whites. Now that's a stupid idea.

I think you need to study some logic.

I wonder if any of those that "march for peace" realise that what they are marching for is a world controlled by terrorists.

No... we were marching against a world controlled by terrorists, who happen to be bombing other countries as part of their war against terrorists who don't control the world.

Not in the Hitler Youth, like some posters on apolyton.

And I'd like to see you wade into the spanish forums with that avatar...

Neoconservatism must be the most brainless, postmodern ideology in history. I mean the whole thing is so vacuous it's laughable.

Their basic attitude is "let's take a bunch of discredited economic and social ideas, stack 'em together with a mediaeval view of crime and punishment and mix them into a dull porridge of prejudices. And if anyone objects, well there is no truth anymore, so we will substitute conviction - so even if we're arseholes, no-one can prove it."

All conservatism, neo or not, is simply a poor means of rationalizing one's desire to impoverish, rip off and dominate others.

And Agathon shows his lack of political knowledge entirely. He has NO CLUE what neo-conservatism is (or conservatism for that matter). Preconcieved notions about a political philosophy... is that how teaches his philosophy classes? I hope not .

Maybe Asher was right about philosophy profs . They simply can't seem to get their heads around reality, passed their preconcieved notions about certain ideologies.

Nope you were marching for terrorism because you want nothing done against terrorism. Rather according to your illogical line of thinking, we must sit around singing cumbaya while the terrorists blow up buildings. You in effect are pretty brainless and I hope your type never gets control of the world or we will all truly be screwed. I'm not saying peace is bad, but right now it is not possible as long as we have Kalashnikov tooting terrorists running around.. so think again!

Indeed. It seems that philosophy departments may be no more than circle-jerks for leftist ideologies... at least at Aggie's school.

And your solution to terrorism is to cheer-lead for the US/UK while they run around blowing up buildings.

Nope. While they kill terrorists. Afterall they got Saddam and killed his sons so the Iraq war was a success. The country now has a constitution like Afghanistan. Reconstruction is happening. Not to mention Iraq has been churning more oil than it did pre-war.

My solution is a plan of action where we actually go after terrorists and not appease them with stupidity. I mean you can go sing cumbaya and wave your white flags of surrender all you want. But nobody is listening to you! THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE AREN'T. America knows if it listens to the great ignorance of people like you we might aswell surrender to Al Qaeda and even relinquish control of the country to Osama Bin Laden.

Actually, Fez, it's you that the majority of people are not listening to. Even in the good old US of A, a majority now believe the War on Iraq was not worth the cost!

Part of me disagrees with you in that if you drive all your allies away from yourself and generally mess up like you are now, the terrorists win.
But the other part of me agrees with you, in that by doing the above you continue to support glorious nations like China and India
