A Gay Santa is the most stupid thing I have heard in gay history. Why dont you people create your own christmas icons instead of taking the ones we already have and molding them the way you want.

What's next? Gay action heros? ******MAN to the rescue!!!

By the way -- need I remind people that it was SlowwHand who had to sexualize a gay Santa Clause? If this thread is filthy at this point, I think we know who started that.

Why can't a g-rated gay Santa Clause be represented??

You're on the losing end of this one, Spec. MrFun is absolutely right.

I DID read your last post -- but maybe it helps if I quote you, AND then respond.

By the way -- did you have to use the word "******Man?"

                It's like a ball.

Slowwy gave the thread a little nudge after you picked it up and pushed it down the hill.

I hate to break it to you, but the easter bunny's already gay. I mean, come on all those pastels and rainbows. Not to mention it's a single rabbit going around laying eggs - that's obviously some sort of weird gay thing.

Well, I wanted to discuss the cultural contributions that non-heterosexuals have made in this country or other countries.

Couldn't this guy have just played the role of Mrs Claus and be done with it. To draw overattention to the fact makes is certainly counterproductive, I feel. In my mind I now see this as a display of attention seeking and egotism, and by the overt association with non-hetrosexuality does nothing to endear the group to which he so devoutly stands to promote.

If he had played the role and received silent acknowledgement then it would have more effect on people minds. They would, without being brow beaten, realise that they see nothing unusual in a gay man dressing up as Mrs Claus in a parade.

I guess my point is, if you want your sexual orientation to be accepted as normal/usual in any situation then why do try to make the point that its an unusual event for a gay person to do these normal things?

UGH -- apparently you guys are WAY too hung up on this gay Santa Clause thing.

I should have picked some other source that discussed cultural contributions by non-heterosexuals.

Anyway, try to look at the main point -- that non-heterosexuals are part of American culture more than many heterosexuals realize.
That explains the sad state of American culture.

So the best cultural contribution by *ahem* non-heterosexuals is playing Mrs. Claus in a Christmas pageant?

Santa can be played by gay or straight, I don't care, but why the need to draw attention to that fact? As for discussing Santa's sexuality, that is an absurd discussion in my mind as it is a complete irrelevancy.

I think a topic where sexuality is still a real discrimanatory or prejudicial problem would be a better context to discuss non-heterosexual contributions to society.

It's really is scary what a couple thousand Apolyton threads throughout the years can do to you. I had to read a substantial part of this thread before it struck me just how surreal it is to discuss the notion of a gay Santa and its implications.

Big Crunch, I think "absurd" might be too soft a word. For the remainder of this thread, I suggest the word "grotesque" be applied.
