Why is Bush a mindless bigot?

I find his policies quite reasonable compared to Canada's Prime Minister, who just sticks his finger in the wind to see which way it blows.

Well, even a blind horse finds water.

        Any problems with the policies?

What is wrong with protecting marriage?

And 'Human Dignity' is an oxymoron.

as if non-heterosexuals cannot embrace family values.

They can't, unless you ignore what "family values" actually entail.

I have to agree that old man Fun is out of his league in bashing this proposal. In these troubled times heterosexual marriage is better than nothing. Being an opponent of such a thing is like being an opponent of kittens.

I don´t think this has anything to do with Slowwhand´s event. if I get him right, his deadline is october 15th, not the 14th. all I found out about that day yet, is that a new SuSe Linux version will be released...

I really don't like Bush and I'm not a big fan of marriage myself, but what is wrong with protecting marriage and families?

By supporting responsible child-rearing and strong families, my Administration is seeking to ensure that every child can grow up in a safe and loving home.
What is wrong with this ?

                      i don't mind protecting marriage.

but until heterosexuals can actually prove that it's not divorce that's ruining family values in america, but homosexuality, i'll remain unconvinced that homosexuality is what we have to be on guard for.

it's divorces, idiots. divorces and people getting married willy-nilly, and the disgusting way which the wedding has been given more prominence than the marriage, and how the public itself has lowered the value of marriage.

gays have very little to do with it. we straight people have destroyed something precious, and now we seek to guard the tattered remains as if it's something holy that we haven't already shat upon?

Well, there's nothing wrong in "helping couples build successful marriages and be good parents" but maybe the proclamation puts too much emphasis on protecting "healthy" marriages, especially that we know what they mean by that.

A simple pro-marriage, pro-family proclamation would have been better, without the "anti-homosexuals" connotations it has.

Promoting healthy marriages is great as long as you let everyone get married.
