Fvck it -- I'm not going to get the repairs just so I can get a couple of hundred bucks from this piece of krap.
I'm going to junk it, and buy myself a much better used car, and have an auto shop inspect whatever car I'm interested in, before I buy it.

Even if you buy a new car, you want to be able to sell the old car to someone else don't you? (trade in). If so, you will want to be able to say that the brakes are in good shape.
