If we're talking how I play Civ, it's rather like a mix of Grant and Sherman. I don't have the patience to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. I use onslaughts of superior forces combined with a slash-and-burn technique of cutting my opponent's territory into pieces through pillaging terrain.

Uhm, other than that...er...Longstreet maybe? I'm usually the voice of reason when friends are contemplating really bad ideas.

I didn't say Civ, but that can certainly be a consideration for the strategy employed.
Generally, Civ play reflects personality, which is also a consideration.

Oh yeah. Thanks for the thought applied in answer.
Unlike SOME, who will go unidentified.

I'm a Grant type, apply force and numbers until the enemy collapses.

I said Genghis Khan because I have a hankering to put the entire population of some random Central Asian city to the sword. Is that an acceptable reason?

Slow and stubborn, that's about right.

Though I greatly admire General Lee, I'm a Jackson man all the way.

Sadly in government I've met many, many General Steele type people. In fact I was just talking to one - totally off his trolley but quite senior so in the conversation I did my best Henry Blake

                    Let's see . . .

I'm not sure right now. But I do know I would not pick a general that was on the losing side of a war, so that leaves out all Confederate generals of the Civil War.

Yeah, you'd need all the help you could get with a country with virtually unlimited manpower and supplies. Real generals make the best of what they are given.

Except when dealing with the Chinese.

I have no idea which General would suit me the best.
