Cool down your holyness. Not every Canadian thinks like you do. And a lot of us would do the exact same thing under the same circumstances.
        What?

WE all know that Americans are the most polite and benevolent people on the planet, but to start bashing stupid Canadians would just be falling into their lame excuse for a trap to get us to stoop to their slime covered level of incompetence, stupidity, and drunkeness...

Canadians suk, Americans rule! Get of my band!

              • My part of Toronto just came back up at 1:15edt, but we have been warned of the possibility of rolling blackouts.

Quite entertaining yesterday - I was driving downtown when it hit. First thing I noticed was radio stations dropping off the air. And then when I got off the freeway, no traffic lights, no transit running. Major traffic slowdowns. And lots of emergency vehicles on the move. And phones went down from the overload.

So - what does one do - find a bar and start drinking before the beer gets warm. I didn't bother trying to get home until much later. (after a long period of non-drinking, fyi )

Very eerie driving through a city like Toronto, and only a few lights on. And very quiet.

                And - no work today!

All in all, the city handled it well. No stories of looting or chaos. Actually, lots of stories of folks doing traffic cop duties to help keep traffic flowing. Pretty calm all considered given the extent of the blackout.

                Welcome to the 21st century.

                • And regarding this American-Canadian flare up in this thread, what is of note given the current situation, is that the major reason given for the extent of the blackout is the 'inter-connectedness' of the power grids in both countries.

We are joined at the hip in more ways than one.

Now if only we could get a certain ignorant Canadian to shut up, the flare up in this thread would be no more.

I'm not condoning the attitude Tingkai's taken here, but you don't pull a phone out of someone's hand. You go find another one.
