      Half of them don't even touch alcohol and have a good life now.
      Neither one of my father's parents ever drank that was just part of their strict Protestent up bringing.
      There's the answer to your question, Pekka. Yes, people have genes that predispose them to certain conditions, but there are steps that one can take to avoid the problems altogether.

      No one is doomed to fail, but the real question you have to ask yourself, is what counts as success? Having a loving family or career advancement? I guarantee, if you figure out what you want, you may not be great in the eyes of your peers, but you will enjoy the ride all the more.
