If not I can recommend hill street blues on warmoesstraat next to the police station, pretty relaxed place with good seating and music.

I checked out Cafe Cuba today. It looks quite nice, it's not very big, but I think it'll suffice for the meeting.
Prices are reasonable: €1.70 for beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
A nice feature of the cafe is that it has a pooltable as well.

It's very easy to get there as well, so I think it would be a good place for the meeting.

If people need directions on getting there, I can give them.

Yes, time is the last important thing that needs to be worked out. I was basically planning on spending the whole day (or at least the better part of it) in Amsterdam anyway (as I don't come there nearly as often as I'd like), so it doesn't matter much to me. But there's not much of a point of me being at the Cafe Cuba at 14.00 if noone else shows up before 19.00... The rest of the day (if there is such a thing), I plan on maybe visiting the Rijksmuseum, or strolling through the Jordaan or over the Waterlooplein fleamarket, or enjoying the liveliness of the Vondelpark or the Leidseplein... something like that (tips are welcome ).

So what do we want to do? Meeting in the afternoon, evening, both?

He's having computer trouble though, so if that doesn't get fixed he might not be able to come (simply because he doesn't know when and where)... I don't know the details.
