It's not all black; there are a few Arabs there as well.

          What isn't more like.

Have a look at Scotland too.

West Africa is largely green, the color of France, i.e., Africa is still colonized. Spanish Morroco still exists.

Hmm It doesn't show Northern Western Thrace as part of Greece, but I don't remember when we got it.
              Will look it up.

Well, it calls it Russia rather than USSR (which my old 1990 globe calls it).

When did Leningrad become St. Petersburg?

If that were true then large parts of Europe were French too

Austria, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia seem to be a menage a trois. What is that tumescence projecting eastward from Austria? Never mind...

Also Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Norway are all the same color. Some sort of Teutonic federation, no doubt.

Labrador is a different color than Canada, but the island of Newfoundland is not. When did the Newfies join, 1948 or so?

                    Weird.

Not necessarily, che. You might just as well say that Germany controls the Netherlands, and Denmark, too. just rather poor colouring IMO. ( I thought the same way you did, but something makes me doubt. )

EDIT: Labrador is the name of the "breakaway province"

Looking at it more, I'm sure I've seen this globe before. Its rather small and made of metal, isn't it? I can't remember where, I just remember seeing it a loooong time ago. But then again I'm not that old! =)

So logically the globe was made before 1918. Unless of course it's a copy.

I don't believe so, paiktis22. Turkey moved her capital to Ankara in 1923, and the map shows Ankara as Turkey's capital

Yeah, but they're all the same color together, next to each other.
