Obviously, you haven't been reading much.
You mean debates where you don't tell others why you're so smart? Nope, I just read the debates I'm involved with, and you've consistently used appeals to authority - your alleged credentials.

I put that in at the beginning because it's my professional opinion regarding the subject of my job.
You started this thread to tell us about your job or to take a test?

If there was some quiz or statement made that some Apolytoner was reasonably expert about, I'd want to hear their views.
In other words, you were once again touting your alleged expertise before us.

Trying to turn this into anything else is just silly.
I've seen a number of these tests offered by apolytoners and you're the only one who felt the need to announce what an expert you are.

    I already explained this.
    And yet you said this:

It doesn't commit you to any of their normative beliefs (say their views on the state).
And then you accused some right wingers here of being "welfare liberals" based upon the test results. So make up your mind...

There is no ironclad logical connection between the latter and the former. In other words it is possible to agree with someone like Rand about what form moral arguments and justifications have to take without agreeing with the positions she takes on things.
And what was my objection? That you claimed the test exposed some right wingers as welfare liberals. You want it both ways... telling us the test doesn't describe a person's political ideology and then accuse some right wingers of being welfare liberals based upon the test.

Given that people on this forum are often surprised when they find themselves agreeing on points with their usual enemies, I think this was a test worth taking. For example, Obiwan18 expresses surprise that he occasionally agrees with me. The test shows that he shouldn't be surprised since our metaethical views overlap to a considerable degree, even though I'm not a theist.
There are always some issues ideological opponents agree on, my only 2 critiques of the test are that #7 (universal law/morality) has a "no" option that basicly affirms the proposition. And where is an analysis of the questions and answers in how they relate to these philosophers? I'd like to see why Mill and Rand are so close together. I understand that Mill was a quasi-socialist in his later years, but more of a libertarian in his younger years.

Asher trumpets his computing expertise; Imran and Rah have both mentioned their expertise with the law and several science students have mentioned their fields of expertise.

I was joking you numbskull. It was amusing to see people frustrated at being found to agree with their ideological enemies. Hell, I was found to agree with Aquinas, which I found quite surprising.

Why don't you read "On Liberty". It isn't long and is worth anyone's time.

I haven't debated Asher and neither Rah or Imran have tried using their credentials as an argument for accepting their positions that I know of. I'm not saying you did that in this thread but you have in the past. Sikander has explained that you come off as snobbish, that's my only point. Btw, I think Rah mentioned his experience with the law only after you did in the Masters thread.

Well live and learn, you have a sense of humor. Smilies will help identify your ambiguous attempts at humor. I'm sure there are leftists here who took the test but you didn't say they were exposed as right wing free marketeers...

Why don't you read "On Liberty". It isn't long and is worth anyone's time.
I'll give it a look this summer if I get the chance, Ayn is at the top of my list of political reading.
