    • Urban Ranger:

Nietzsche was in no way a determinist... he believed in complete personal responsibility... was a subjectivist... he seems to be an existentialist although an existentialist who saw strength as the supreme virtue. thus, compared to Sartre and all the other leftist existentialists, nietzsche was a right-wing one.

      thanks

            Kant, just as I expected.

But in the thinking behind it, there is something more sinister which is shown by the fact that already there are certain areas and topics where freedom of speech, in the sense of the right to open and frank discussion, is being gradually but significantly eroded." -- Judge Neil Denison

            • After some research I like my top 3 of with Nietsche, Hume, and Spinoza. However, I tend to draw more of view points from my grandfather (no great philosopher) who was a naturalist. Would any of you consider these 3 naturalists? I think I am more like Hobbes, but anywho... What are some other good naturalistic philosophers?

                    1 St. Thomas Aquinas

                    2 John Locke

                    3 Benedict de Spinoza

                    4 St. Augustine

                    5 George Berkeley

                    Berkeley?

Why isn't Locke on the earlier test?
