I wonder is Harry knows that Apolyton is back up. He might not be able to get into Apolyton if he's trying to acess this site without the "www"...
EDIT: Nevermind - I've noticed that Harry has been posting here too.

I tried Poly a few times from work on Thursday without success. It seemed to be there later in the day but I was not able to get into the forums (all I got was the main page). In the evening I had a club meeting. I wrote that message this morning before I found out that Poly is back.
Looks like they are going to reconnect the Iron. a worker is there. This may mean that it is their only source of Iron I think we should consider this an important point. Possibly the most important. If we are able to hold this point the war will be much faster

I can't disagree with you Macy. I am hoping we can distract them on a few fronts and wiggle our way into the east coast situation. I suspect they have been building spearmena nd warriors - and now want to do an upgrade. So yes - nailing that iron source will be critical.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
I have been working on my computer - a new one - and the home LAN all day. Just up and running now. I will play the turn tomorrow. Eli - if you have the save and others want it - can you please send it to them. I only have about 5 minutes on-line this evening.

I have played the 610BC turn. I will post a longer post in a bit - but I have to go now. Essentially - we did lose all our units in the plains. The good news is that General Jon's stack this turn killed a pikeman on the mountains south of them - Dissident the Deadly did it - although he is only hanging on by one hit point now - and the stack moved south adjacent to a city named Tempest - with no walls, size 6. So they can add a worker to get the equivalent of walls. It only has a wounded chariot in it.
More later.

If we continue south, will the new reinforcements be enough for us to break their chain of defenses and advance towards the mountains? I dont think so.
So at this point new units in the south have the only purpose of stopping a possible Swordsmen counterattack, which is not too likely. Since we saw none of the units that killed us we can safely assume that they were War Chariots.
So those two new units in the south wont help in any case.
While if they are in the center, protecting the Iron, they can potentially thwart a GS attack.
So no help vs potential help. I recommend dropping the forces back near the Iron.

Yes - it was not a pretty turn. In addition to the two GoW horsemen we have heard about - we lost 5 immortals (including yours truly) and a spearman.
That represents a lot of succcessful chariot attacks - as there was no one left standing on the spots we held. GoW said their galley could see one chariot reduced to a hit-point of one.
Our attempt to draw some of the heat away from GoW obviously did not work. We have no idea if they took any losses. But I presume they did not. A bit frustrating. I am writing GoW to ask for better co-operation on moves in the future.
So - this turn - we received a map from GoW - not much new that I can see.
But there was some good news this turn - Dissident was succesful in taking out the pikeman to his south - which is no mean feat given that he was a vet pikeman on a mountain. Outstanding Diss!! Only wish I had defended half as well during GS' turn. So, General Jon led the troops south, and next to the city of Tempest, defended only by a wounded chariot. This should spread the defence a bit.
Everyone else hunkered down - and a second spearman moved in to defend the tile with the two workers. On the east coast - it was pikemen either way - so they fortified and the other two immortals moved down the mountain chain.
You will see the dialogue between Eli and me on the galley - we both felt it was best to pull back - and defend the iron.
Up north - there is a huge parade of troops to the front. I have Miller Town building a spearman - in anticipation of getting feudalsim from GoW and building pikemen. We are dying without them. I am also going to ask GoW to ignore the 10 turn trading rule. I mean - c'mon - they are at war with GoW!!???
But we have lots of upgrades to do - one was done this turn in Dissidentville. He will move to help defend the iron. But there are 11 more on the road south - 3 more out in two turns, etc, etc. What we need now are pikemen, and some useful help from GoW and RP.
I indicated quickly to vondrack of Lego that we were fine with the deal - so more gold is coming this turn. We will have to confirm officially that we accept the deal.
I have not heard back from RP regarding their involvement in the war.
As usual - all comments, suggestions, criticisms. ideas, etc, are welcome.
Those may not have all been chariot attacks. A swordsmen in Arashi could attack a stack without moving out leaving the last unit to be taken by catapults and chariots.
If we are not using the galley keep it fortified. It gets more sight range and 25% defensive bonus.
