Yup understood. But the last unit would have had to be killed by a chariot. Same with the two next to Monsoon - as there are no units in Monsoon. And same with the two GS horsemen.

    Agreed about the galley.

    • We lost 6 plus the two GoW horsemen. That means GS has least 8 chariot/swordsmen in the area that survived. Plus at least one swordsmen that was on the east mountains.

We are running out of mountains to follow.

How long before our workers complete the road S of Dissidentville to the end of the mountains overlooking the grasslands by Monsoon? I have an idea on how we can take/raze Monsoon if GS continues to leave it ungarrisioned.

      • From the stories in the public forum it looks like GS got themselves a leader. I expect we will see Sun Tzu's completed shortly or they might use it for an army. An army of Med Inf heading north will be tough for us to stop.

With a 2 on defence it would not worry us that much. Especially on our turf. I would be more worried about an army of pikemen.

But I suspect they will use it on a wonder.

          • Yes, I would think that they would rush build Sun Tzu in order it build veteran units in all of their cities...God, we need to take some of those cities away from them...

            • Hopefully, we can also get a Great Leader from all of this...

              • If they are going with the warrior upgrade, then we need to get their Iron before they are able to upgrade.

                  • I agree as well - but how. That is the question. Pikemen on mountains are hard to take out.

                      • 590BC turn played.

                        Screenshots:

Received map from GoW. Sent our map.

Received 120 gold from Lego. Sent our map.

You will see the unit moves on the screenshots. As expected, there would appear to be a strong defence in Tempest. I was not going to risk losing the only significant force we have left. General Jon and his troops fortified. I expect they will be taking shots from catapults and med inf, but they are fortified in a mountain tile - so should be relatively safe.

Another spearman moved up to fortify on the workers. A point to note - when the workers are done in two turns - the road there will go both ways, which means we will be susceptible to chariot attacks - any thoughts? I suggest we finish the road - and heavily defend the tile.

Man - pikemen would be useful!!

On the east coast - the two immortals moved up to reinforce the three units already entrenched. SAme comments as above - they may get attacked, but should hold their own.

I fortified our galley where it stood. We cannot outrun the GS galleys. They would be able to attack us next turn - so following Harry's advice - I fortified it. We will see what happens. BTW - I have Elipolis building another galley. Wit a pop rush - out in two turns.

I also moved units to defend all the likely landing spots - in case the GS galleys are carrying troops. I suspev they may not be - their purpose may be strictly naval superiority. But if they do land - we have three immortals in striking distance - and on roads. Also - there are no mountains for them to land in.

A pile of units are still heading south. Two more warriors were upgraded this turn. After next turn - Wittlich city should be up to 10 shields per turn - which will help.

Question - The Voice produces a spearman next turn. It can produce barracks in 3 or 4 turns after that - I can't recall without the save open. Do we want to do this? Or still pump out regular troops?

RP/Spain's letter mentioned a map for landing sites. Unfortunately there is no spot where a galley moving 3 tiles can croos to Estonia from Bob safely - other tan the northern crossing near Wittlich City. Nonetheless, I would still propose we gift our map to Roleplay. Any thoughts on this?

Can't think of anything else. Oh yes - I suggest GoW land on the mountain tile for now - until they are ready to move south.(Anybody thinking that losing the two horsemen was all a plot to land troops farther north by us??? Still no response on pikemen. )

Presuming GoW is still playing straight with us - we need to discuss our next strategic move. We will have a sizeable stack of immortals soon from D'ville. We should keep them massed - but to do what? With pikemen as defenders - we would have a few more options.

I vote for a barracks. There is a BIG difference between regular and veteran troops!

If that is the quickest crossing point, then so be it...as long as they get involved.

Yes, I have been thinking the same thing...but I guess we need to trust them for the time being and take the chance on this campaign ending up successful for us - just make sure we don't have unguarded cities within their stiking range.

I concur - We need Feudalism ASAP!!!

                          • It's time to attack one of the cities IMO.

If we dont attack now, all our troops will be red pretty quickly.

                              • URGENT QUESTION!!

Reading the public forum reminded me that the Great lighthouse enables GS galleys to move safely through sea tiles. This is correct - is it not?

If yes - we had better get a reserve back up north in a hurry. I suspect the two galleys we can see may be a decoy.
