This is TRUE. Their galleys can safely move though and rest in Sea tiles. We need to have our cities GUARDED.

Yes, the GLighthouse enables safe sea travel. I remember mentioning that when they built the GL. I found some discussion about that here http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...90#post1919890 We need to have a couple of immortals in the north to counter an invasion. A spearman in each city would be nice too.
Yes, I remember your warning about this Harry. I have to admit, at the time, I was more concerned about their extra movement point than GS actually sneaking around us (outside our line of sight) and springing an invasion force into our heartland.

With our current positions on the east coast we have the coast and sea lanes covered very well. They would have to risk to unsafe stays in ocean to get past us unsigthed. I doubt they would do that. We have no such coverage on the west. I would hope that the GoW galley in the west would warn us if they saw a GS galley coming. With the GoW galley moving northward a GS galley could be following out of sight. I don't think they have an invasion force on the way yet as they have been too concerned with defenses to stop us from taking anything.
Those GS galleys in the east serve two purposes. First it stops us from reinforcing our eastern forces. Second is to remove our galley so they can safely bring up troops. Now that they have taken out half our main invasion force I expect they are pretty confident with their defenses. New units may be produced with an invasion in mind.
Oh - Ok - so it is sea and not ocean tiles? Right. Whew - that helps a bit. You are right Harry - and I do remember your earlier warning - but a comment in the public forum by a GS member tweaked one of my antennae and got me thinking. I was afraid of them sailing east out to the ocean - north - and then coming in completely un-announced. But as you have pointed out - it would have been difficult using soley sea tiles.
But - a northen reaction force would still be a good thing.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
I concur Beta - I've always been uncomfortable with have undefended cities - even in the rear - there should be some type of reactionary force available, just in case.

If they are going with the warrior upgrade, then we need to get their Iron before they are able to upgrade.
I don't know why this keeps coming up. GS has not disconnected their iron. They have pikeman and are creating more, therefore they have iron. GS has swordsmen therefore they have had iron. That iron is connected. We can not see the road because of the blackness. The iron tile has commerce so baring a river running next to the mountain (I don't see the edge of a squiggly next to the mountain) the tile must be roaded to provide commerece. Hurricane is next to that mountain so it is connected. GS is not doing a warrior upgrade. They are using their money to speed research.

Yup.

nbarclay has a post in the public forum (Vox Daily War Report) about what they have done to us. I am strating to get a bit suspicious. Immortals are equivalent of defence factor 4 in mountains - and they were fortified. Chariots cannot attack us - med inf has an even chance or worse, which means we would give as much as we take. Mathematically to take out the big stack of Immortals should take some 14 med inf. Maybe we are just not seeing them lose units (which is possible). Any thoughts?
I agree that moving to the plains earlier was a bad move - our hand was forced by GoW. But given where our units and GoW's were, they either had a lot of chariots or were very lucky. Hmm...

Tempest has walls. All our units near the two cities are injured, their Eastern stacks on the moutains were reinforced and the two galleys are adjacent to the Iron, but no troops have landed. Two GoW galleys are on their way.
Unfortunately I recommend retreat. We cant break the defenses of Tempest or Arashi with our current forces and every turn that passes they will become weaker and weaker due to catapult bombardment.

General Jon et all took some damage from catapults - they must have quite a few around - and I have started them on a trek out.
It is also noteworthy that the military advisor shows us and GS having roughly the same size military now. And we are larger than all the other nations.
Moved troops south. Upgraded two more immortals. Many warriors heading south.
The Voice will produce barracks in 4 turns.
Wittlich City expanded last turn - and is now producing 10 shileds per turn. Warrior in one. Miller town is producing a spearman.
And Elipolis had compiled 10 shields so a pop rush produces a second galley next turn. The pop point lost will not lower production below 5 shields, which is the key number. New shields were just going to corruption.
Re-arranged the iron mountain defences a bit.
I do not think a GS galley can get to us without us seeing it. They would have to risk ocean tiles - and I don't think they would risk that. Any thoughts?
GoW has horsemen on the mountain. We will need to discuss plans.
I have old notyoueither that we are considering our options. Which is the truth.
And we really could use pikemen.
And the reading in the Vox Daily War report thread is interesting - especially the speculation by an outsider that this war is all staged. Who - us? Never.

GS will be counter attacking to our territory very soon.
In the short term we should build walls in Diss'Ville and get Feudalism.
In the long temr we need to start fortifying the road to northern Estonia and producing defensive troops who will position themselves on the possible naval landing sites.
I have reason to believe that we will soon face an onslaught of Knights.
