    • After the crazy tech report above, I finnaly succeeded to post a screenshot( it's not -1turns/techs but 0 turns/tech I got in this screenshot)

Ok I seem to have bumped into a little problem:
THE COMPUTER DOESN'T COUNT MY SCIENCE-BEAKERS ANYMORE
Ok at this moment the science-cost is some 13058beakers/tech. I've put my science rate over 27000 beakers(to get 3techs/turn).
I have now 40 future techs and the previous turn I had a little miscalculation and ended with just a few beakers short for the next tech, during the turn I had some caravans running arround and this gave me a little over 20.000G so normally the moment I hit enter I should have seen the popup telling me I had just discovered Future Tech 41...but nothing happened(the entire management-period through...then >27000beakers later the new turn starts and what do I see in the screen of my science-advisor???
      NOTHING
      (like in 0 beakers)
This wasn't the worst it could get...When I delivered some trade-caravans(for the amount of ~1500G) nothing changed ...No new science-beakers.

As you can see this is kind-off a problem...and I have no clue what the problem might be.(hopefully it gets solved when I play again, and it's just a temporal slipup.)

      • a decade of overflow

After the science-depression on the end of the previous decade new efforts were taken to improve the scientific evolution of the empire. To do this 50% of the taxmen were converted to scientists and 30% of the trade-income directly went to scienctific development.
In the year 1970AD a group of immigrants from India decided to become citizens of the empire(although it took >4000G to convince them most ppl think it was worth it...those immigrants are known as the NON).

In 1972 something terrible happend; a group of guerrila fighters out of the mountains near Zink attacked a caravan on it's way to Paris. They killed everybody in the convoy and destroyed the roads.
This was an act that could not be tollerated by anyone so they were destroyed for this act of agression.
Because of this new possible tread to the Imperial society the government decided to upgrade the entire army and give the millitary some brand new stealth fighters so they can reach far-away uprisings eassily.

In 1973 the historial Gibbon completes his epic history and tell's that the empire is the most powerfull civ in the world.
This good news caused 2 new traderecords in the year 1974:
2358G for a Uraniumshipment and just a few days later 2390G for an other Uraniumshipment.
Also a new uprise of infidel citizens was reported near Tantalium.
Some say these uprisings are because of the hard way of life in those airea's.
In 1975 a new group of Indian immigrants decides to join our glorious empire.

science keeps on going very well, it even went so good in the year 1975 that our scientists had a breakdown and forgot everything they had done that year ...luckilly we could figure out what had gone wrong so this wouldn't happen anymore in the future.

The sciencerate was increased again=> all taxmen were converted to scientists.
An other uprising near Zink was contained swiftly with one of the newly build stealth fighters, although it took some time before the pilot was able to find his invisible plane, but after that all went well. The second partisan of this uprise was accidentally killed by a patrolling tank...the soldiers in the tank hadn't seen the partisans crossing the road and they just ran them over...it wasn't a pretty sight, but all was cleaned up quick enough so nobody of the press ever saw it.

In 1977 a group of Indian marines was convinced to join our army.

To increase the speed of terrain-improving ,136 new engineers were recruited...now they are improving the bigg continent.

So far a new decade of history.

        some numbers
        current population: 682.610.000ppl
        current score: 9423pts = 1224%
        trade= way of scale => 30%lux 20%tax=~11.000G 50%science=~30.000beakers
        costs=~9500G
        #cities=212

          • why don't you build the space ship and then take over the world, not that I know what I'm talking about with the score calculations but I thought you got more points for killing everyone

do you have the AI reduced to a zoo city yet?

              • GP: the Indians are a single city (size 6) empire.

Phat_Phal:The spaceship is finnished and will be launched at the appropriate time(NOT NOW)

The problem is that the French,Japanese and English left me a joke instead of cities and improvements...I'm still trying to fix all that up.

btw I still need some 5000 points(for my goal) and the spaceship only gives 400(killing those indians ould be even less)

                • Are you max cities yet? Isn't population the key score vector. Shouldn't you just concentrate on food?

                  • Sounds like you are reaching the final stages (of boredom?) could you post a save game so that those of us with not a fraction of your patience could see what a high score game looks like?

If there are a zillion posts on earlier pages just call me an old fart and I'll get the lead out and look back a bit ...

                    • Yes, by now, population should be everything. Food Caravans, celebrating for the new cities. AND MOST OF ALL BOREDOM.

I finally lost patience when I topped ming's score, and should have played longer to make it tougher on him. But I couldn't, I just launched to end the PAIN>

                      • GP I'm at 212 cities...so I can still squeeze in ~40

The problem is the enormous amount of plains I need to convert...
(something the AI never did was getting terrain-improvements...roads over ~50% of it's tarrain in best case...)

I'll post a sav...next time I play(but have some patience...my exams start monday and go on till 26 june so it might be a while...but I'll post it)

About this Game itself my guess is that I might be able to pump in some 4000 points(minimum)...but I'm not going to start a mass-food-caravanscheme anymore(I have 4 smal islands doing this...wich is enough this time)...
Population is the most important thing now(+my 3tech/turn + spaceship) but to make it grow I need a lot more terrain-improvements...only some 20 cities left who are rushbuilding , ~80 building caravans and then rest is upgrading the army(I know this is usless for the game but sometimes I have the impression that building something makes a tradeobject back available-> that's what I need) and capitalizing.
4 major things I get to trade are : Dye,Hides,Gold,Salt
                        4 things NO-ONE wants : Dye,Hides,Gold,Salt
(and the cities that want Dye are just facked by the computer )

there will most probably be a next time, but before I start that one I will do some serious research (science-routes to take, an efficient rushbuild protocol,...)

                        • Shade, you oughta lay down the extra cities, ASAP. You can terrain modify later.

                          • Yeah, I'm not insane enough to try this so this isn't a considered opinion, but I would have thought getting to the max number of cities asap would be a good idea. The late game should be about terraforming and building them up.
