Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
WOW..... i dont' have the patience for that..when turns take 1/2 an hour i know i am my breaking point..guess i will never set any records maybe one day when i have the time i can try this out again lol
my breaking point is when enemy turns take 1/2 hour
especially when those cursed persians who are based on an island just a few squares from my romans start building a huge fleet of puny destroyers and obsolete cruisers!!
instead of attacking me they just move they boats all the time, and that's when i quit the game

BTW Shade, what are you city names anyways? default, made up, periodic table of elements, sports stadiums etc figments of fantasy...
I started with the default ones...then the backups...took over a whole lot of AI cities(let them keep their name, except those who got to the backup-names)...
and then I just took my periodic table next to me and went through it(following Z)...I believe I'm now at Z=106
(Seaborgium...this is one of the really recently named ellements)
Up until Z=109 they have a name, after that it's something like 1-1-0 (uun) they start naming them.
Z=113 isn't found yet
Z=114 hasn't gotten an official name (except uuq )
a list alphabetized and/or in the history of their foundation would be appreciated since you have plenty of time
dont forget the ones which may have become destroyed or under barbarian control
Look at the first page, my second post contains all names of cities I have(or had) in the order I got them(by building or capture).
Shade.
[edit]...made some corrections to the Z-values...the things standing there now are correct[/edit]

Ok, nevermind, i was being cheeky....didn't realize you had this much time on your hands
i am astonished and without words rare for me indeed.
do you have a save you could post, i am interested in looking at your map?
but i have to go to work, so you have 8 hours to post that , if your too busy with your game right now
i take it there is only one ai city left
Don't worry I didn't just post that list, It was there already from the beginning, just kept it updated.
If you wan't to see a save there are some posted I think the bottom of p6 (and further)...
enjoy

If I capture cities, I like to keep the names so it's easier to find. (at least most of the time)

I thought the last round of named elements went up through 111.
I have names to number 109 I believe...
the others get "numbernames" 110=one-one-zero=(in addapted latin) un-un-nil-->uun
Ans I thought the heaviest ever created was 118...(should look it up could have been an error...)
Btw the program of Xin Yu sounds promissing.

Status: still working on Lazyciv version 3 now and plan to finish it by this weekend. Then I'll move to the civ manager utility. I can give civmanager a quick kickoff if don't consider scenarios (i.e., hard code the building cost for each unit slot). I'm a little bit tired so perhaps I'll just do that and try to cover scenarios later.
Once I try to maximize score as Shade.
My civ was very large : up to 255 cities (with one or two foreign cities for trading and keeping the game alive) and 300000 h, a lot of future techs...
I took the normal names for cities, renaming the numerous backups. But the difficulty for homing or trading was to remember were all my cities were : I choose to add to the name a mention of the place in the map, cut out in sectors, as 1N (for sector one, North), 2S, 3C (center of the map), and so on.
BTW, for maximizing, I didn't start on a random map, but on the large map with many rivers and specials, built for a comparison OCC game : the OCC23.sav file.
With turns during one hour or one hour and a half (freight transport, rushbuying what was remaining to be completed...), the game became very boring , and I didn't wait 2020 for landing SS ship. I launched as soon as I was near to reach the max population.
Yes, hitting the launch button out of shear madness caused by boredom is quite normal. I did it, Ming did it. and I'm sure there were many others.
