If that probe team was still within base radius, it would have been visible on the base screen right? So I guess it must be on the river just east, possibly having landed there? If we move a B-4 to Mendelev College to chase down the probe foil then we could use it to scout that area en-route.

How about we send them something like this right away:

We have located a foreign probe team in the area around Mendelev College, and they claim to belong to your faction. We will immediately destroy it unless you can quickly provide us with confirmation that it is indeed your unit, and an explanation of what it is doing in our territory without prior warning.

We do not wish relations between our factions to deteriorate, which is why we are giving you this opportunity. But you must realize that a hostile probe team on our soil is an extremely sensitite issue, and in blatant violation of the Modo doctrine.

If they fail to answer before the turn is up, we may have the option of attacking and destroying their unit with our crypteia in Mendelev College, depending on where their unit is.

Of course it may have withdrawn back to its transport, in which case it is entirely safe.

I can confirm that an Angel probe team has managed to locate Provoost Zakharov this year. If indeed you have visuals on the unit, you will note it is already on it's way back to it's transport.

Also, the University of Planet may be submitted to the Spartan faction, but what does that have to do with breaking the Spartan territorial integrity?

In case the Spartans wish to provide the Data Angels with sufficient map information so we won't stumble unadvertedly on any more 'forbidden' territories, by all means, do so.

We already destroyed a Morgan ship that came too close to Zak, so there has been precedence. I think we need to repeat clearly, that we treat the University territory as our own.

I'm fairly sure we mentioned in a Phalanx there somewhere that we treat pactmate territory as ours. I could dig up the link and send it to Geo if you wish, or we could put up a carefully worded, proper declaration of the doctrine ("for the benefit of all") in the next issue.

The topic in the header has not been adressed sofar.

The scientist at the Research Ops Centre, with their few scientific commodities, would feel offended if the Spartans choose to trade this technology with other factions behind our back. The more since the Spartan merchant code restricted our trading of received technology with other factions.

May I ask a quick response on this issue?

"Yeah, we had already started wondering about that as well, as nothing had been mentioned on that. We arrived at the conclusion not to trade your tech to the Peacekeepers. We did transmit Intellectual Integrity to the University though, as they are our submissive ally and thus we share a mutual credit reserve (their cash sits in our central bank). For you this internal Sparta-University exchange doesn't matter, as other factions aren't allowed anyway to conduct any diplomacy with the University Protectorate unless with Spartan supervision and permission."


I didn't give IntInt to the University yet though. Should do that before the end of the turn.

As for the other Angel inquiries, how about a few quick replies:

On their question two weeks ago:

Regarding your flotilla nearby our coast. May we ask the content of it, and in case a transport is included, it's cargo?

It sounds a bit strange that this cruiser force sails south instead of hunting down the ships of the Corporation you mentioned. Is your navy that overstretched compared to theirs?

That cruiser force (no transports) was scheduled to head north up your west coast. And our navy isn't overstretched at all - otherwise we wouldn't be able to go after Morganic ships on the other side of Planet.

The Morganic threat has already disappeared though in the meantime, and we no longer require to sail near your west coast. We appreciate though you were willing to consider our request, and hope you will be as open as us too if you want to pass through Spartan territorial waters.

As a first reply to their queries in the Research and Technology forum:

We are glad to confirm receiving Intellectual Integrity. And don't worry, as we speak, I'm about to go to the foundation ceremony of the Citizen's Defence Force. So you can certainly trade this technology forward next year.

As to your request for the cruiser hull, we are currently discussing what we could ask in return (what do you have?). You do have to understand though, at present the Federation is still the only possessor of this ground(ocean)-breaking naval technology. And there's no way we want our advantage to fall in enemy hands as soon as we trade Doc:Ini to you. Therefore we're wondering if you would be willing to accept a permanent trade embargo as condition for any deal?
