  • Do I need to register to Eventis again?

Last time I tried to connect it returned 404 to me.

I was authorised to send the proposal by CT.

    • I like the trade too. I like planned for a while. Why don't we run Democracy? That's +2Growth+2Efficiency at a cost of 1min/base for support. Then we get 80% income from energy (51 EC). Is there any way to estimate the cost of the land bridge project which we can start in 2 more turns? Is the Hive still really perceived as a major threat to us - will it take advantage of a land bridge with great purpose - in comparison to the human players for instance - to warrant the land-bridge-project cost versus accelerating our development?

      • The landbridge project might not mean a Hive threat soon.
A Sparta threat would be much more believable.

Although their tactic of taking the SP and then obliterating is awesome -> see rumors that there's a cruiser filled with 4 Impact rovers somewhere in the DA-Gaian seas..

        • Does anyone know? Did Sparta's smaller bases all become size 3 once they grabbed the PTA or is it necessary to hold the SP for a year before you see the effects?

          • Capturing the PTS doesn't affect existing bases, to my knowledge.

Strange, to my knowledge it does..

              • Exsisting bases, it's supposed to take away one drone in every base under size 3. Nothing to over. Once they reach three, deal's off. That's what I recall the manual saying, at least...

                • Once they reach three, deal's off
                  Correction:

Once they reach four, deal's off

You can ICS with having PTS and no matter how many bases you build you will have one worker (from PTS) and 2 drones to quell if no other drone quelling means are present. Once pop rises to 4, you'll have 4 drones to quell.
Double checked in practice, can even show a pair or screenshots.

Strange - I'll contact you and try with you one day to see why is it unavailable.

No, now it's available, just it seems that now I can't login with my old username/password..

This is because you haven't registered. The old usernames are gone as database was lost when massive PHP problems forced to change forum software. You just need to reregister. In other words that was Eventis II and now is Eventis III. Interesting enough, there is some kind of maintance running right now.

I just wonder what PHP problems my cause a loss of database. Im a programmer myself and the only problem I know which would make a DB go lost is technical problems on the server machine.

They just dont want to write script(s) which would retrieve the data from old base and insert them into the new one..

Without the proper precautions on the database, it would be very easy to write a bad loop that overwrites a whole field in the database (such as username, or password fields )

Well, Im quite expierenced in working with DB and I think if I was given that task it wouldn't be hard to do for me.
If the dump file from old DB comes in unscratched it'd be nothing more than a piece of cake.
And working with DBs there can be no mistakes as you will either learn about them from the SQL query window or from the vBulletin phplog. And then you can just drop the DB and reload (and repeat till everything's ok).
